MEMORANDUM:
TO: Village Council
FROM: Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager -J
DATE: July 12, 1991
SUBJECT: Tequesta Park Improvements Grant Application Public
Hearing; Agenda Item
As was mentioned earlier this week- during our Budget Workshop
Meetings, the Village Staff is desirous of seeking grant monies
from the State of Florida to help with the cost of making
necessary improvements to Tequesta Park. In order for the
Village's application to be considered, certain activities must
take place at the Village level, which include:
o Public opinion survey which we undertook in the July
Newsletter
o Public Hearing to present proposal and receive public
comments
o Advisory Board review which will be undertaken by the
Community Appearance Board in July
o Site Plan Drawings
o Cost estimate prepared by professionals
As will be seen on the Public Hearing portion of the agenda, a
presentation will be made, public comments and Council comments
received and the Public Hearing can be simply concluded. The
improvements contemplated are new state-of-the-art lighting for
Pennock Field, to replace that which was installed some 25 years
ago, and to pave the shell rock parking lot serving the entire
park facility. The site plan drawings, which are not complex,
will not be available until the meeting. The new lighting is
estimated to cost $125,000 and paving the parking lot $130,000.
