TO: Village Council
FROM: Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager /
DATE: May 3, 1991
SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending Building Regulations to Prohibit
Fugitive Dust and/or Blowing Sand from Construction
Sites; Agenda Item
As you recall at a recent Village Council Meeting, Scott Ladd,
Building Official, recommended the creation of an ordinance that
would give his department additional powers to regulate
construction sites in regard to sand, dust, and debris which
can, from time to time, become a problem for adjacent
properties. The attached Ordinance gives the Building Department
the ability to require materials, such as fill, to be stabilized
with coverings, wetting or approved chemical application to
minimize this potential.
The attached Ordinance has been approved by the Village Attorney
for legal form and sufficiency. It is recommended that the
Village Council approve this Ordinance.
