I MEMORANDUM : TO: Village Council FROM: Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager DATE: April 4, 1991 SUBJECT: Authorization to Purchase Property 512 for Constitution Park; Agenda Item At the Village Council Meeting of January 24th, the Village Council authorized the Village Manager to negotiate for the purchase of Property 512 for inclusion in our park plans relative to Constitution Park. Since that time, I have done so with the representative of the family which owns this parcel who, pursuant to the attached, has agreed to sell the property for $35,000. The property is located in unincorporated Palm Beach County causing it to be a "pocket" surrounded by Village property. The zoning classification is RS, Residential Single Family. The property dimensions are 75 'x117' for a total square footage of 8,775 feet. The proposed purchase amount is a fair price for this property. The attached map indicates that the parcel would make an excellent addition to our Constitution Park holdings. Accordingly, it is my recommendation that the Village Council authorize the Village Manager to purchase Property 512 for Constitution Park in the amount of $35,000, plus applicable closing costs, utilizing Recreation Impact Fees to acquire the same. As of this date, the Recreation Impact Fee Fund contains $125,272. TGB/mk Attachments • Recycled Paper • Post-fr brand fax transmittal memo 7571 Dept. We would like to share site plans, with the purpose of coordinating the access and utilities that would service the park and the lot which we have a site plan of a house and garage layed out. 2. If the village is interested in acquiring the property, the asking price is $35,000. We are willing to work with the village on either direction that we eventually proceed on.
