This matter is before you because this fund-raising event is proposed within a residential neighborhood of the Village. I have been assured by Ms. Godown that the potential parking problem has been minimized and will be strictly enforced and that the President of the Tequesta Country Club Community "Homeowners' Association has been advised of the proposed fund-raising event and does not oppose the same. If approved, this will be the first showcase home event in the Village and Northern Palm Beach County. It promises to be an exciting event for the Lighthouse Gallery and the Village as well. As the fund-raising arm of the Lighthouse Gallery, the Lighthouse Gallery League has put together their first annual designer showcase home as a major fund-raising project. Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDonald have graciously donated the use of their home at One Yacht Club Place for the event . Fifteen premier Palm Beach County designers have been selected to display their talents in a combined charitable effort to benefit the Lighthouse Gallery and School of Art . The designers are expected to utilize their considerable talents to showcase selected works of art in the design and furnishing of their respective rooms in the home. A reception for approximately 200 people will be held at the home prior to transformation on February 8, 1991. During the following 30 days the designers will transform the home into a show house. A second reception for the same 200 people will be held on March 8 , 1991 so they can see the resulting showcase home. The home will then be open to the public from March 9 through March 30, 1991 . The charge for admission to the home will be $10 with the proceeds benefiting the Lighthouse Gallery. Provisions for off-sight parking are currently being finalized so as to not inconvenience any of the neighboring homeowners. The League is also securing all necessary insurance for the event and security arrangements have been made. I have contacted Robert Hoffmeir, President of the Tequesta Country Club Community Association, concerning his organizationls support. He has indicated that he does not have concerns regarding the project and we have assured him that we will continue to keep them appraised of its progress. We would certainly appreciate the support of the Village of Tequesta in this event since it will benefit the major cultural center of Tequesta as well as Northern Palm Beach County. We would be more than happy to attend, if you wish, the January 10 Village Council Meeting to answer any questions that the Council members may have concerning this event. Thank you for your support, we look forward to working with you. Sincerely, Diane M. Godown Co-Chair Post Office Box 4212 • Tequesta, Florida 33469-9212 LIGHTHOUSE GALLERY aC ./ inc.
