VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
OCTOBER 7 — NOVEMBER 8, 1996
During this reporting period, there were 1, 010 recorded telephone
calls to the Village Manager' s Office and 304 citizen inquiries
at the lobby counter.
■ Attended the ICMA Conference from October 7 - October 9 .
■ Attended the Village Council Meeting on October 10 at 7 : 00 P.M.
■ Met with Councilmember Meder at 4 : 30 P.M. on October 14 .
■ Conducted a Staff Meeting at 10 : 00 A.M. on October 15 wherein
the following items were discussed:
1 . The Director of Finance was requested to ask Mr.
Sharpless if still interested in serving as a Board
Member for the Employees ' Pension Trust Fund.
2 . The Director of Finance was reminded to rectify the
Recreation Impact Fee Fund.
3 . The Water System Manager was requested to provide a
status of the Reverse Osmosis Well Project.
4. The Water System Manager was requested to provide a
status of the Central Garage Project.
5 . Building Official instructed to rearrange offices prior
to anticipated arrival of new Planner.
6 . Water System Manager requested to provide an overview of
Water Bill Review policy.
7 . Fire Chief was requested to schedule employee flu shots
and notice same in Employee Newsletter.
8 . The Finance Director was asked whether he had initiated
budgetary program changes for target date of April 1997
whereupon he advised that he had not.
9 . The Fire Chief was questioned for the need to lobby for
ALS-CON with the appropriate County bodies .
10 . Fire Chief was asked to provide status of firefighter
representatives on Retirement Board.
11 . Fire Chief inquired as to space availability for Fire
Department at new Central Garage.

12 . Finance Director questioned as to status of health
insurance alternatives review.
13 . Finance Director advised by Village Manager of
acceptability to proceed with outsourcing payroll
function effective January 1, 1997 .
14 . Village Clerk advised of cleaning schedule for Village
Hall Council Chambers .
• Attended the Redevelopment Committee Meeting at 9 : 00 A.M. on
October 16 .
• Attended the Manager/Finance Director Meeting at Town of
Jupiter at noon on October 16 .
• Attended the Roadway Issues Mediation at Jupiter High School
Cafeteria at 6 : 30 p.m. on October 16 .
" • Attended the NAMAC. Meeting concerning centralized dispatch at
9 : 30 a.m. on October 17 .
• Met with Jupiter Medical Center Officials at 10 : 00 a.m. on
October 22 .
• Attended the Village Council Workshop Meeting regarding FPL
transmission line at 5 : 00 p.m. on October 23 .
• Participated in interview of consultants for review of Harbor
Branch activities at 9 : 00 a.m. at the Village Attorney' s Office
on October 25 .
• Attended the Inaugural Meeting of the Employees ' Pension Trust
Fund Board of Trustees at 9 :00 a.m. on October 28 .
• A Staff Meeting was conducted on October 29 at 10 : 00 a.m.
wherein the following items were discussed:
1 . The Director of Public Works was requested to advise
Seabrook Road residents of Seabrook Road Drainage Project
upon bid award by Village Council.
2 . Director of Public Works was requested to review
feasibility of flap valves on discharge points at Dover
Ditch.
3 . Director of Public Works was questioned as to prevalence
of dead oak trees throughout the Village.
4 . Director of Public Works was requested to research
schooling and training for stormwater utility maintenance
personnel.

5 . All Department Heads were reminded of Village Council
Priorities Report due on Friday, November 1 .
6 . Director of Public Works questioned as to status of cost
estimates for proposed projects in Central Business
District.
7 . All Department Heads were questioned as to need for
establishment of formal dress code.
8 . All Departments advised of plans for consolidation of
reporting of comp-time usage and other absence reporting.
9 . Director of Public Works questioned as to status of Dodge
pick-up.
10 . Director of Finance was questioned as to contact with
self insurance service providers wherein he advised he
had not contacted same.
11 . Director of Finance questioned as to status of health
insurance spreadsheet review.
12 . Director of Public Works & Recreation questioned on
status of Recreation Center and rental of same.
13 . Director of Public Works sought direction relative to
acceptance of ENCON road specification.
14 . Director of Public Works advised that Tequesta did have a
FDOT U.S. Highway One Maintenance Agreement for all sides
of road and center medians .
15 . Director of Public Works advised of need to proceed with
pathway overlay from Tequesta Drive Bridge to south gate
of Tequesta Country Club and for Country Club Drive
entrance concrete removal.
• Attended the Finance & Administration Committee Meeting at 8 : 30
a.m. on October 30 .
• Met with Director of Public Works and Coordinator of Stormwater
Utility at 2:30 p.m. on October 30 to review drainage project
schedule.
• Met with Jack Horniman at 10 : 00 a.m. on November 4 to review
strategy for Community Development Block Grant Application.
• Attended the roadways mediation meeting at Jupiter High School
Cafeteria at 6 : 30 p.m. on November 6 .
