26 The Holiday in the Park was geared to super young kids. We need activities for teenagers too. 2/15/2024 10:29 AM
The parks and recreation department should have more events. A lot is sourced out and
therefore an extra charge. The summer when most children are home the rec center is closed.
I also feel like maintenance should be done while school is in session.

center is not utilized. It makes nonsense to have to drop a child at the rec center than walk
around sea brook with little children to play instead if being allowed to exit the back of the
building. People would still park at the park entrance so that is just silly. They have bathrooms
to the outside that no one can ever use.
31 Stop all of the unnecessary signage! 2/6/2024 4:23 PM
32 There was not another under the last category, and definitely future development and small 2/4/2024 5:22 PM

1 US1 back to 3 lanes. Making it 2 lanes was criminal! 2/29/2024 4:41 PM
2 Consider right turn only on remaining corners of Old Dixie and Tequesta Drive. Turn only 2/29/2024 12:02 PM
heading west and south, but not north or east???
3 1 love the Parks and Rec dept. They keep me here! 2/28/2024 7:37 AM
4 Why are there no electric vehicle charging stations in the VoT? 2/27/2024 6:13 AM
5 Dissatisfied with code enforcement regarding maintenance of residential construction sites, 2/25/2024 8:36 AM
two on leeward circle, 8 and 23, have been under construction for 3 years. One empty lot, 24
leeward circle has a lot of weeds. Is it really okay for people to build 2 story houses that tower
over nearby one story homes and block the sunlight? Permits are required for renovations and
inspectors rarely spend anytime looking to make sure the work was correctly completed. Air
conditioners in attics aren't being inspected, once because the inspector couldn't physically
climb the ladder to the attic. The other inspector said he didn't need to look in the attic...where
is my protection for the money I pay for the permit. If a permit is filed, then the village needs to
follow up and inspect, not wait for a contractor or resident to call... especially if the job is over
6 months old, assume it's complete and call the homeowner then come and really inspect.
Police are amazing! They have been very friendly and helpful with various noise issues from
nearby neighbors! Please continue to keep tequesta a quiet peaceful place! How about a 9pm
noise ordinance instead of using Jupiter's 11pm? Police do a great job in keeping speeders to
a minimum, still some speeding on country club drive and I see the added police presence!
Overall, Tequesta is a great place to live!
6 Would like to see more involvement with residents. 2/25/2024 7:23 AM
7 Stop the development of all green space. The`village" is no longer feeling like a village. No 2/23/2024 10:37 PM
more approving condo developments on the beach, high stories. Save our beaches.
8 We need affordable housing. Not a cement city. Widen US1 there aren't enough roads to 2/23/2024 2:26 PM
handle the overgrowth of buildings. 4 story limits. Local only retailers.
9 Tequesta park is exceptional but often difficult for residents to get time on tennis and pickleball 2/23/2024 11:20 AM
courts because we allow non residents to utilize. Somehow limited use to residents would be
appreciated.
10 None 2/23/2024 10:31 AM
11 Please clean up the post office grounds. Place is a mess. Improve crosswalks. Better 2/22/2024 2:10 PM
sidewalks on Tequesta Drive.
12 Float another bond referendum and try to purchase Paradise Park and turn it into a community 2/22/2024 1:02 PM
gathering place with an amphitheater and outdoor event venue.
13 Moved back here in 2012 and absolutely love it! I hate the commercialization of this area but 1 2/22/2024 12:56 PM
can't stop it.
14 Excellent fire and rescue department. Excellent police department. 2/22/2024 12:05 PM
15 Residential building codes and requirements appear to be very random in how they are 2/22/2024 9:44 AM
enforced. Many of the Village residents are perplexed to why some are required to abide by
strict codes and variances while some residential builders and others are not.
16 the village staff does an incredible job. Anything I chose above was only for things we can do 2/22/2024 8:10 AM

17 Enforcement of golf cart regulations particularly children driving them on Village streets. 2/22/2024 6:38 AM

Agenda Item #4. 2024 Village of Tequesta Citizen Survey
19 More lighting on Tequesta Drive between US1 and Dixie Hwy for walking at night. 2/21/2024 7:17 PM
20 1 think the community would benefit a fenced in dog park with maybe a pavilion, a couple of 2/21/2024 6:54 PM
picnic tables and water available for the dogs. Also, Would be grateful to not have a lake on
River Drive in front of my driveway. Sometimes it takes days to drain, and evaporate when we
get a heavy rain. Thanks for asking, surveys are always a good start for improvement But
also like to not have a lake around my house that takes days to evaporate
21 Are golf carts allowed on village streets? There's a sign outside the village's main entrance 2/21/2024 6:36 PM
saying "no golf carts"yet I always see them running around.
22 Reconsider golf carts west of alternate A1A, more bathrooms at Constitution Park, and more 2/21/2024 6:09 PM
and better pickleball courts.
23 1 am very concerned about the number of brightline trains, their speed, their noise. I know 2/21/2024 5:26 PM
people tried to fight having the train go through our village to no avail. There are too many, too
fast, too loud. Over time i think people will be injured or killed. Also, I've been behind Tequesta
fire/rescue as they waited for the train. Granted it was only a five minute wait, but that makes
a life and death difference.
24 Trash and black debris bags not to go out to street until the day before pick up . Huge! Thank 2/21/2024 5:02 PM
you!
25 1 wish the Village would urge some of the shopping centers to update their appearance. For 2/21/2024 4:48 PM
instance, the"Fashion Mall" on US 1 where EVO is is just awful and falling apart. The parking
lot is dirty, the vegetation is neglected, the overhangs are rotten and the building needs new
roofing & paint. Also, Tequesta park could use some real updating in addition to the nice new
dog park.
26 We are very concerned about the lack of signage at the railroad crossings at Riverside and 2/21/2024 4:05 PM
Tequesta Drive as it pertains to stopping at the light before the tracks. It is a major problem
with locals and outsiders and drivers are upset when people stop before the tracks at the red
light and don't continue through. We heard they have ordered new signs - hopefully they will be
large and very clear so the road rage at these crossings does not continue to be a problem for
those of us who actually follow the rules. Also police presence should be available when new
signs go up so law enforcement can explain these rules to confused drivers. Thank you!
27 1 think the village dose a great hub for the people in our community. That being said the noise 2/21/2024 3:10 PM
pollution from the trains should be a major concern.
28 The coyotes are still an issue 2/21/2024 3:08 PM
29 My greatest concern is that Tequesta is going to become over built and over populated just like 2/21/2024 2:31 PM
has happened to so many areas in Florida. I already see some signs of it happening in recent
years...increased traffic, re-development (especially with multi-family units). We have such a
unique and special place here and it would be sad to see it lost to overbuilding which already is
happening in Jupiter and even more so in Stuart. It is nice to have restaurants and retail but it
adds to the traffic and changes the quality of the town. I work in Boynton Beach and the
endless building (commercial and residential)and multi-family developments is causing a
traffic and over-population nightmare which affects the quality of life. There is always a
temptation for"progress"but that is not necessarily better. Sometimes less is more. Please,
please do whatever you can to keep that from happening to our special town! Thank you.
30 Please no more coffee shops. Another fast food restaurant other than McDonalds or Burger 2/21/2024 2:24 PM
King would be nice other than the Starbucks. I do not ever visit them.
31 1). There's far too much dog poop and littering, I often walk around Tequesta drive/N. Dover 2/21/2024 1:43 PM
road picking up garbage. I wish the Baptist church urged their congregation to not litter, I wish
the Stop and Shop had better management of the surrounding area to limit trash, and I wish
law enforcement fined litterers and people who don't pick up their dog's poop, etc. 2). Every
time it rains I worry that I won't be able to drive out of the village because I have a smaller car
and flooding is an issue. 3). 1 wish the area east of the railroad tracks south of the Old
Dixie/Tequesta drive intersection were repurposed for something else (a park?) it just looks so
ugly and our village is so nice otherwise.
32 1 am satisfied with the Village &what they have done so far. 2/21/2024 1:20 PM
33 This is such a special place. Please continue to keep large development under control so we 2/21/2024 1:17 PM
39/44 Page 35 of 105
Agenda Item #4. 2024 Village of Tequesta Citizen Survey
can maintain this small town feel. Please.
34 Please consider working with a local artist for some murals entering or around the Village. 2/21/2024 1:00 PM
Residential code compliance in every facet needs TREMENDOUS improvements. Pedestrian
safety greatly needs improvement. The percentage of green space needs to be maintained and
improved-people are chopping down 60 year old plus shade trees and nothing is being put in
their place. They're cutting down trees that aren't even theirs and the Village doesn't even
notice. You are allowing new/newer residents to run amok and they're completely destroying
the sanctity of our once quaint Village. Please do better!!
35 Enforcement of speed limits especially on N Cypress Dr. Traffic calming especially on N 2/21/2024 12:42 PM
Cypress Dr. There are more options than speed bumps.
36 It's starting to be very congested with new housing popping up everywhere 2/21/2024 12:40 PM
37 Enforcement of traffic and speed 2/21/2024 12:01 PM
38 Enforcement of illegal use of fireworks, more fireworks here year round than anywhere I have 2/21/2024 11:56 AM
lived. Programs to naturalize yards, stop so much useless mowing and blowing which creates
environmental pollution and adds nothing to quality of life of humans or habitat for small
animals. Also stop the rat poison! It poisons owls etc.
39 It would be lovely to increase the amount of permits residents are able to apply for. I have 2/21/2024 11:49 AM
been interested in teaching a free monthly community yoga class at Village Green but can not
get around the 4 permit max/year. The few classes I have taught have had great attendance
and is an awesome way to bring our community together. Would love the opportunity to host it
once a month!
40 The water bills have increased exponentially! 2/21/2024 11:48 AM
41 The area along countyline rd and the rr tracks has always been neglected. No sidewalks and 2/21/2024 11:17 AM
the 7-11 area is never kept up. 30 years living here and it still looks terrible along county line
rd. We pay taxes like the country club, but get nothing!!
42 Tequesta is becoming much more family friendly. Anything to improve parks would be greatly 2/21/2024 11:16 AM
appreciated.
43 It's a pleasure living here! I've had a few visits from the fire and police and they are always 2/21/2024 11:15 AM
super polite and helpful.
44 Right now my biggest concern is visibly when pulling out into a divided hiway. Specifically on 2/21/2024 11:02 AM
Tequesta drive between Old Dixie Hiway and US 1 and Whenturning in or out of Publix on US
1. Height of shrubbery should be Very Low in divided highways. Right now you can't see low
slung sports cars approaching in the opposite lane in these areas.
45 Make sure storm water drainage is clear, prior to hurricane season. Maybe twice a year clean 2/21/2024 10:53 AM
them out to prevent flooding. Also, Loxahatchee needs to keep the sewer lines clear, atleast
twice a year, maybe just before season and just after season. We've experienced back up
before into my daughter's house and secondly my condo. There needs to be more inspections,
rather than just trusting pump stations.
46 Please limit the train horns 2/21/2024 10:43 AM
47 What happened to all the fun food truck events that had activities for the kids before Covid? 2/21/2024 10:40 AM
Rock wall?Trampoline? No lights on the playground during nighttime events??We also need
more shade at Constitution park, & more parks on the water. Less building! We don't have
schools to house any more people-already too crowded. And we really need a Trader Joe's
closer! It's the only thing I have to drive to Gardens for.
48 Replacing all of our outdated and broken sewer lines must be a main focus for the foreseeable 2/21/2024 10:28 AM
future. This should be priority one. Also very important is to keep a large budget toward
maintaining, updating and improving our water treatment facility. This is a must for the health
and well being of the residents. These should ALWAYS be top priority. We also need to budget
to bury as much utility line as possible since we are coastal village vulnerable to hurricanes.
Making the village as hurricane Ready as possible is another main priority. Parks, recreation
and development should be last until all of these essential priorities are dealt with effectively.
49 QUIET XONE FOR TEQUESTA!! It's bad enough traffic/lights jacked up every time train 2/21/2024 10:15 AM
passes
40/44 Page 36 of 105
Agenda Item #4. 2024 Village of Tequesta Citizen Survey
50 Street repair requests seem to be ignored. Undergrounding distribution lines should be a 2/21/2024 10:12 AM
priority. Bike lane is desperately needed on County Club Drive.
51 Hazards of electric bikes on sidewalks 2/21/2024 10:02 AM
52 Wonderful place to live! Thank you!! 2/21/2024 10:00 AM
53 Communication needs to come out earlier, like calendar of events. Sometimes by the time we 2/21/2024 9:56 AM
get Smoke Signals the event has past.
54 The Village of Tequesta is a great place to live! 2/21/2024 9:54 AM
55 The speed of driving on country club drive needs to be controlled. It is very dangerous and 2/21/2024 9:54 AM
there was recently a bad accident. Police occasionally patrolling the street is unfortunately not
sufficient. Is it possible to put speed bumps or take other metrics to ensure the safety of
residents and children?
56 It would be helpful if the Village put notification of garbage pick up when the pick up day falls 2/21/2024 9:52 AM
on a holiday. It would also be helpful if the recycle truck did not beep through the neighborhood
at 6am every Monday.
57 Thanks for all that you do for our community! 2/21/2024 9:51 AM
58 It's unfortunate that short-term rentals (AirBNB, VRBO) is allowed in Tequesta Country Club-- 2/21/2024 9:51 AM
we have to deal with noise (loud late-night parties, barking dogs)from the house next door and
the owner of the house is unresponsive to communication about it.
59 love our village, would not want to live anywhere else, keep the buildings small scale, no 2/21/2024 9:48 AM
skyscrapers or stand our unsightly building, let's keep Tequesta quaint
60 Given the increasing number of young families that have moved to the VOT in recent years, 2/21/2024 9:45 AM
would like to see improvements made to the constitution park playground and turfed swing
area as it desperately needs updating. I've witnessed numerous injuries on the old slides as
well. Additionally, would be great if there were more walk-in indoor activities available at the rec
center for rainy days as the game room is pretty scant. Would like to see more open play
indoor activities available. Thank you!
61 Consider term limits for elected officials in the Village. 2/21/2024 9:43 AM
62 Several residences are in great disrepair. Homes are crumbling, yards are unmaintained, rats 2/21/2024 9:42 AM
and snakes are numerous. What can be done to property owners who refuse-or are unable to
- maintain their homes?
63 We have a great community and love the families. When we first moved here it was a lot 2/21/2024 9:39 AM
easier to get around on golf carts and then the order came in for the registration and seat belts,
etc. I understand a portion of that but we need to push to make this more golf cart friendly.
64 Love the VOT! Thank you for all you do :-) 2/21/2024 9:38 AM
65 Should not allow the Police& Firefighters Union to endorse Candidates Politics is so rotten for 2/21/2024 9:38 AM
the last 6 years too much is wrong going on
66 please repair our roller coaster streets and replace faded, leaning signage. Street lights have 2/21/2024 9:38 AM
been reported out or dimly lit and have not been fixed. Code enforcement is non existent IMO,
especially on the weekends and with non permitted work. Children driving golf carts are a
constant issue as well. Otherwise we live in an amazing Village that values residents and is
receptive to feedback!
67 Keep up the good work! 2/21/2024 9:37 AM
68 Please help the Tequesta post office landscape and mow their lawn. Also with their upkeep of 2/21/2024 9:37 AM
their building. It looks abandoned on most days. Looks pathetic! Embarrassing. I've written
them to no avail.
69 Enforcement of rules, laws and regulations are not consistent. Traffic enforcement is almost 2/21/2024 9:36 AM
non existent. Code enforcement is not consistent. Golf cart drivers are mostly kids who don't
know the laws.
70 1 am disappointed that the village no longer has a tennis program at Tequesta Park and I hardly 2/21/2024 9:36 AM
see any youth sports (baseball etc)there as in the past
41 /44 Page 37 of 105
Agenda Item #4. 2024 Village of Tequesta Citizen Survey
71 Jupiter has the garbage cans. Would like Tequesta to get them. 2/21/2024 9:36 AM
72 Too much development 2/21/2024 9:35 AM
73 Recycling twice a week would be very nice. Also higher level of Village wide pest control - 2/21/2024 9:35 AM
specifically rodents, mosquitos
74 Noise pollution from train horns. Stop horns from trains, other cities have done it . Has affected 2/21/2024 9:35 AM
daily life and businesses from train horns
75 None 2/21/2024 9:32 AM
76 Over building. Keep is sustainable thank you 2/21/2024 9:32 AM
77 Boat parking should be allowed in driveways. We live 10 minutes from the ocean. That's why 2/21/2024 9:26 AM
we chose Tequesta to live in. It's a boaters community.
78 1 think in a Village our size, the council members and employees should make more of an 2/21/2024 9:23 AM
effort to be transparent and communicate with residents above the call of duty. Slow the heck
down with the big decisions and involve the public while we can still affect change.
79 OPEN spaces and LOW building height and density. 2/17/2024 7:42 PM
80 The trains are out of control and effecting quality of peaceful living. Tequesta needs to apply 2/17/2024 3:18 PM
for quiet zone. Also-too much commercialized building is being approved and will affect the
"village"and community feeling of tequesta.
81 Please consider requesting for a quiet zone at least from say 11:00 pm to 5:00 am. It is really 2/17/2024 3:07 PM
out of control and not necessary. Thank you
82 The village does a lot of great things, however, there is room for improvement. The country 2/15/2024 10:29 AM
club and Tequesta Pines seem to be the priority and little streets are forgotten. The main gate
to the park is inconvenient for those living east of the park. The kids have to navigate stop and
shop which is a dangerous parking lot. Willow Road was also supposed to be repaved and it
was only half done. The most dangerous part the is not redone and people use it as a cut
through. The parks and recreation department has a decent staff and seems like they only do
a handful of events each year.
83 Need more parks 2/15/2024 10:24 AM
84 Please address electric bicycles and scooters. As an avid village walker, electric bikes are 2/14/2024 3:12 PM
rode on sidewalks at full speed, with no sound or verbal warning of their approach. Most of the
time the riders are young under 18 year old boys, who go by so fast as a walker you have to
jump off the sidewalk to ensure you won't get hit. When one of these bikes is bearing down on
you, even when you see it coming at you, you have to decide if this boy really has control at
the speed he is at to safely pass next to keep the bike straight and safely pass next to you.
When they approach from behind, you are just thankful that you haven't inadvertently stepped
more into the middle of the sidewalk, because they come whizzing pass you without any prior
warning or sound. Someone is going to get seriously hurt, it is just a matter of time. Thank you
for your consideration.
85 PLEASE PAVE SHAY PLACE that has to be the worst road in all of Tequesta 2/14/2024 12:29 PM
86 Please continue to try to control over development; the volume of cars in Tequesta has 2/14/2024 5:35 AM
increased tremendously. Limit construction of zero lot line/minimum lot line residential
development. High density construction means more vehicles on our roads.
87 Traffic wasn't mentioned; it's getting to be a big problem. 2/9/2024 8:23 PM
88 1 don't thinks it's fair that all the oak trees get trimmed along the street but I can't get the palm 2/9/2024 3:42 PM
trees that the village planted in front of my house cut. I also feel that fishing should be allowed
on the bridge. Lastly, it's ridiculous that you need a permit to have a yard sale and can't have
one more than 2 times per year. This is an overstep of government.
89 City use of vehicles for personal use. Cleaniness of parks and common areas. Underurlization 2/7/2024 7:29 AM
of million dollar rec building
90 What do all the people in rec departments do except pickleball. Why can't activities be year 2/6/2024 10:17 PM
round instead of seasonal??
91 Please keep the special events for VOT residents only. They have been SO much more 2/6/2024 4:28 PM
42 /44 Page 38 of 105
Agenda Item #4. 2024 Village of Tequesta Citizen Survey
enjoyable, not overly crowded and much more safe.
92 Stop the building! It is destroying what is/was special about Tequesta. Nothing wrong with 2/6/2024 4:23 PM
being charming and quaint. There doesn't need to be room for everybody and their uncle.
93 Again, there is nothing in this survey that relates to the growth of Tequesta. There's nothing 2/4/2024 5:22 PM
about supporting the ongoing growth of our local businesses. There is nothing asking about
current projects going on such as Starbucks, new, housing developments, development on US
one... And where residents want to see this go or stay
94 nothing 2/4/2024 2:19 PM
95 Please add splash pad and covered playgrounds 2/3/2024 8:00 AM
96 Tequesta Park (Countyline Road) needs remodeling and Pickleball Courts Tequesta Drive 2/3/2024 2:47 AM
parking needs lots of care—repaying, trees, sitting areas, pickleball courts
97 Reporting of crime is kept quiet and unnerving. Need better lighting along sidewalks at bridge 2/2/2024 7:13 PM
and enforcement of teenagers jumping off bridge and leaving trash on bridge and polluting
Loxahatchee River. Water quality is too hard. Faucets, toilets and hot water heaters taking a
beating from calcium and lime.
98 Thanks for surveying to seek our opinions. 2/2/2024 4:30 PM
99 We need to rethink how we do things, instead of plastic Easter eggs have a pinecone race in 2/2/2024 3:56 PM
the local parks, a different park for different age groups, use it to mulch the parks rather than
accidentally leaving plastic behind, you can still give candy, or maybe we could have local
Florida native berries growing who knows?Just a thought, we grew up picking berries in parks
on and loved it.
100 Redevelopment should consider future maintenance costs more carefully 2/2/2024 7:39 AM
101 More toddler/kids programming at the Rec center. Tried to get Tracie's music there and it was 2/1/2024 8:50 PM
way too difficult.
102 Dog waste station on sidewalk of tequesta dr instead of back by the building 2/1/2024 8:33 PM
103 I would appreciate more streetlights on the streets so we can walk more in the early morning 2/1/2024 8:13 PM
and evening. There are too many incidents lately with creepers around the village that is
concerning to me as a young mom with a newborn that still likes to stay active. Is it possible
to consider more cameras around to keep track of cars going through? Maybe at the seabrook
and tequesta dr light?
104 Thanks. We love Tequesta. We hope that we can remain unique among all this rush towards 2/1/2024 6:52 PM
homogeneity

108 As a parent with 2 young kids, I love the events in town. But very sad that they are not open to 2/1/2024 10:56 AM
neighboring towns, as we have many friends that are unable to join in these events (even
though they spend a lot of time here and support our local VOT businesses). We need to be
better.

Agenda Item #4. 2024 Village of Tequesta Citizen Survey
113 Pick up the trash around Constitution Park that you allow to blow down the street. Even your 1/31/2024 3:33 PM
maintenance department doesn't pickup after themselves. Stop allowing dogs to roam and
poop in yards put in poop trash areas . Why is their less police presence around Constitution
park? Why are you allowing over night parking at the park and at the Baptist Church? Why
even have parking in front of the park when it can't be utilized?
114 Moral/the culture across the village staff in many dept. displays tension between the Village 1/31/2024 3:15 PM
Manager and Parks and Rec staff, Police, and Fire-Rescue. It makes discussing topics of
concern with dept. directors uncomfortable because it is blamed on Village Manager and
Village Council. This needs to be addressed internally with staff and management/council in a
constructive way.
