Memorandum
To: 'Thomas G. Bradford, Village Manager
From: Joann Manganiello, Assistant to the Village Manager/Village Clerk .
Date: January 6, 1997
Subject: Resolution No. 8796/97-Designating Polling Locations, Election Officials, and
Inspectors of Election, and Establishing Procedures for the Municipal Election
Scheduled to be Held March 11, 1997, and the Municipal Run-Off Election, if
Necessary, to be Held on March 25, 1997;Agenda Item
In the past, I have prepared the above-referenced Resolution as an agenda item for consideration
by the Village Council at the February Village Council Meeting. Upon review of the new
calendar year, I realized that the date of the scheduled February Village Council Meeting,
February 13, 1997, fell late this year. Consequently, in order to give the Village Council sufficient
time to make arrangements for the Municipal Election, scheduled to be held on March 11, 1997, I
request that you "add-on" the attached Resolution to the January 9, 1997, Village Council
Meeting Agenda for consideration by the Village Council.
This Resolution was prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 8 of the Village of
Tequesta Code of Ordinances. The Resolution designates polling locations, election officials,
inspectors of election, and establishes procedures in the event that it becomes necessary to
conduct a Municipal Election on Tuesday, March 11, 1997, and a Municipal Run-Off Election on
Tuesday, March 25, 1997. Also, for your information, the filing period for the March 11, 1997,
Municipal Election is from noon Tuesday, January 28, 1997, to noon Tuesday, February 11,
1997.
Additionally, please note that the Resolution designates the new polling location for Tequesta
Precinct 014, i.e., the Tequesta Recreation Center, 399 Seabrook Road. Upon adoption of this
Resolution by the Village Council, I will forward a certified copy of the same to the Palm Beach
County Supervisor of Elections Office. The Supervisor of Elections Office will, subsequently,
mail new Voter Registration Cards to all registered voters residing in Tequesta Precinct 014
denoting the new polling location and address, in due time, for the scheduled Municipal Election.
Thank you.
