Bradford, Village Manager nn From: Gary Preston, Recreation Director .4•r• Date : April 30, 1997 Subject: Village Council Agenda Item for May 8, 1997; Consideration to Award Fiberglass Membrane and Acrylic Color Coating for Four (4) Tequesta Park Tennis Court to Papico Construction, Inc. , in the Amount of $15, 500 Please find attached, a Proposal from Papico Construction, Inc. and a bid award recommendation from Gee & Jenson for the above referenced project. This project includes a standard acrylic color coating and a fiberglass membraning to repair the asphalt surface cracks that have formed since the courts were built in 1974 . The Village advertised twice for bids and several tennis court companies advised that their firm does not install fiberglass membraning or would not provide the required 5% bid security bond. Papico Construction, Inc. have been in business since 1980 and have an excellent reputation for this type of work. I would recommend the Village Council award this bid in the amount of $15, 500 . The Village Council allocated $17, 500 in the FY 1996/97 Capital Improvement Fund for these tennis courts resurfacing project . Please place this item on the May 8, 1997, Village Council Meeting Agenda for Councilmembers ' consideration.
