NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
AUGUST 5th
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention
awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; (3)
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a
message to criminals letting them know that our neighborhoods are organised.
This year we will celebrate NNO at Constitution Park, from 7 to 9PM.
On hand will be members of the Village Council, the Tequesta Police Department, the
Tequesta Fire Department and McGruff. Local venders will also be on site displaying
locks, alarms, fire extinguishers, etc.
We urge all our residents to lock your doors, turn on outside lights and spend an
evening outside with neighbors police, firefighters, council members and other Village
employees on August 5th.
Remember the fact that National Night Out itself occupies a single calender date is
merely symbolic. It is a powerful reminder that the crime prevention awareness and
programs must be nurtured and sustained every day of the year.
