Bradford, Village Manager �7 Date: July 17, 1997 Subject: Adoption of the Proposed FY 1998 Millage Rate, Computed Rolled-Back Millage Rate, Solid Waste Collection Services Non-Ad Valorem Assessment, Stormwater Utility Non-Ad Valorem Assessment per Equivalent Residential Unit, and Date, Time, and Place of the First and Final Budget Hearings; Agenda Items All of the above referenced items need to be adopted at your Meeting on July 24, 1997, so that the same can be provided to the applicable County authorities so that this information can be included on the Notice of Proposed Property Taxes provided to each property owner in August. The proposed millage rate is 6. 6310, a 2 .5% millage rate increase over the current millage rate of 6 .4693. This rate is provided pursuant to our discussions at the Budget Workshop Meeting. You may reduce the proposed millage rate at your First and Final Budget Hearings in September, should you so choose. The computed rolled-back millage rate is 6. 3160 . The proposed solid waste collection services non-ad valorem assessment is $146.28 per single-family home, and $113 . 16 per multi-family home. The .proposed Stormwater Utility FY 1998 Non-Ad Valorem Equivalent Residential Unit Assessment is $67 .58. This equates to $43 . 91 for small SFH and $87 .83 for large SFH. Condominium units would be $45 .27, multi-family $56.75 . The First Public Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 1997, at 7 :00 p.m. The Second and Final Public Hearing is proposed for Tuesday, September 23, 1997, at 7 : 00 p.m. The First and Final Public Hearings cannot conflict with the Public Hearings scheduled by the Palm Beach County School Board and the Palm Beach County Commission. This is the explanation_ for the Final Public Hearing being held on a Tuesday. Please mark your calendars for these dates and times . The following Non Ad Valorem Assessment rates previously approved by Council for Refuse/Recycling Collection Services for FY 1997/98, are required to be approved by Council at the July 24, 1997 Council Meeting for inclusion in the notice to property owners of the amount of the proposed assessment for Refuse/Recycling Collection Services. Refuse/Recycling Rates FY 1997/98 *Single Family $146.28 *Multi-Family $113.16 At the September 11, 1997 Council Meeting, the NAV Assessment Roll is required to be adopted by Resolution and certified to the Palm Beach County Tax Collector for collection.
