VILLAGE MANAGER ' S REPORT
JANUARY 8 , 1996 - FEBRUARY 2 , 1996
During this reporting period, there were 873 recorded telephone
calls to the Village Manager' s Office and 203 citizen inquiries
at the lobby counter.
• Attended the Tequesta Branch Library Grand Opening Ceremony at
9 : 30 A.M. on January 8 .
• A Staff Meeting was conducted at 10 : 00 A.M. on January 9
wherein the following items were discussed.
1 . The Finance Director was reminded to produce the Budget
Calendar with budget submittals on April 1 .
2 . All Department Heads were requested to provide status
reports relative. to Village Council Priorities .
3 . The Director of Public Works was requested to provide a
status report relative to the Seabrook Road Improvement
Project.
4 . The Director of Public Works was asked the status of the
request for video of Seabrook Road south of Tequesta
Drive.
5 . The Chief of Police was requested to report on the COPS
FAST Grant status and advised that Finance Director was
to file reimbursement request.
6. Water System Manager was asked status of Seacoast
interconnect.
7 . Water System Manager asked to provide a reverse osmosis
status report.
8 . Water System Manager was reminded to provide notice of
rate increase on next water bill.
9 . Director of Public Works was advised of lack of mulch on
Beach Road plant bed.

10. The Director of Public Works was asked the status of
Village Hall Ordinance No. 377 Project.
11 . Building Official was advised to notify Village Manager
of applications for expedited review by memo and forward

plans as soon as possible to Village Council and
Community Appearance Board.
12 . Water System Manager requested to provide status report
on Central Garage Project.
13 . Chief of Police requested to conduct traffic counts on
Country Club Drive over time at the peak and low months .
Also advised that Public Safety Committee would request
same.
14 . The Village Clerk was advised to commence recreation
survey action.
15 . Finance Director advised of a health insurance
information bulletin to be distributed on payday.
16 . Director of Public Works advised of Dover Ditch Public
Information Meeting and letter to adjacent property
owners .
17 . Director of Public Works advised that the Florida '
Department of Transportation had rejected CAB and Village
Council approved landscape plans for U. S. Highway One
medians and would only accept live oaks and sod.
18 . Director of Public Works advised that FEMA had reviewed
24 drainage repair submittals by the Village and approved
22 of the same.
19 . Chief of Police sought direction from Finance Director
relative to Educational Reimbursement Program procedures .
20 . Building Official advised of forthcoming meeting with
planners regarding Planning Forum response.
21 . Chief of Police requested permission to attend Hurricane
Conference to be held in Orlando.
22 . Village Clerk advised of and distributed auto emissions
form.
• Met with Councilmember Hansen at 2 : 30 P.M. on January 9 .
• Met with concerned citizens regarding ENCON Septic Tank Study
at 3:00 P.M. on January 10.
• Attended the Village Council Meeting on January 11 at 7 : 00 P.M.
• Met with Michael Tarlitz of Palm Beach Country Regarding
central business district economic development programs from
Palm Beach County at 1 : 00 P.M. on January 12 .
• Attended the City Manager/Finance Director Luncheon in Juno
Beach at 12 noon on January 17 .
• Attended the Finance and Administration Committee Meeting at
4 : 30 P.M. on January 17 .
• Participated in a conference call with Bureau of Land
Management officials at 10 : 00 A.M. on January 18 .
• Attended the Special Village Council Meeting at 7 : 00 P.M. on
January 18 .
• Met with Assistant Chief Allison and Code Enforcement Officer
Davis regarding Code Enforcement Board issues at 10 : 00 A.M. on
January 22 .
• A Staff Meeting was conducted on January 23 at 10 : 00 A.M. ,
wherein the following items were discussed.
1 . Chief of Police advised to submit revised rate request
pursuant to Code of Ordinances for off-duty detail.
2 . The Village Clerk was requested to add utility franchise •
ordinances to the next codification.
3 . Building Official was questioned regarding right-of-way
permit regulations .
4 . Building Official was reminded to amend the Comprehensive
Plan regarding sewers in Tequesta.
5 . Director of Public Works was advised to provide
additional shade trees at playground in Tequesta Park,
pursuant to Village Council request.
6 . Building Official was requested to provide a status
report relative to the height of the Chevron sign on U. S.
Highway One.
7 . The Village Clerk was questioned as to the parking space
size intended at Constitution Park.
8 . All Department Heads were reminded to advise Rim of all
job openings so the same can be on job hotline.
9 . The Director of Public Works was instructed to write to
the ENCON Executive Director requesting a copy of the
ENCON Five Year Capital Improvement Program and any other
construction projects within the Village of Tequesta so
that the same may be coordinated with Village of Tequesta
Street Paving Program.
10 . Building Official was requested to provide a status
report relative to the EAR Project.
11 . Water System Manager advised as to concerns relative to
time to answer telephone extension 234 .
12 . The Director of Finance handed out the previously
requested Budget Calendar to all Department Heads .
13 . Director of Public Works provided the Village Manager
with updated drainage map of the Village.
14 . Director of Public Works sought direction relative to
scheduling of Public. Information Meeting on Dover Ditch.
15 . Director of Public Works advised of dumpster problems
with the Solid Waste Authority.
16 . Director of Public Works provided an update on the work
efforts on the JTJC Building.
17 . Director of Public Works provided a FEMA update report.
18 . Chief of Police sought direction relative to an IRS Form.
19 . Chief of Police provided Village Manager with status of
requested removal of trucks at Lighthouse Plaza.
20 . Chief of Police sought direction relative to Bicycle
Rodeo donations .
21 . Water System Manager advised that Well 27 construction
had begun.
22 . Water System Manager advised that Garage Bid Evaluation
was scheduled for January 25 .
23 . Village Clerk advised that Code of Ordinances Supplement
No. 25 had arrived.
24 . Village Clerk disseminated vehicle inspection forms to
all Department Heads.
25 . Village Clerk advised of Pre-Construction Meeting for
Constitution Park to be held on January 23 .
• Attended the ENCON Septic Tank Public Hearing at 7 : 00 P .M. on
January 23 .
• Attended IBM Voice Type Dictation Demonstration in West Palm
Beach at 11 :00 A.M. on January 24 .
• Attended a meeting with Martin County residents and officials
concerning regional traffic concerns at 6 : 00 P.M. on January
24 .
• Met with Village consultants relative to work program for
Seabrook Streetscape at 2 : 30 P.M. on January 25 .
• Attended the Redevelopment Committee Meeting at 9 : 00 A.M. on
January 29 .
• Attended the Expedited Mediation Hearing at Village Attorney' s
Office regarding Jupiter water matter at 10 : 00 A.M. on Tuesday,
January 30 .
• Attended the Public Safety Committee Meeting at 9 : 00 A.M. on
January 31 .
• Attended a Mediation Hearing at 10 : 00 A.M. on February 1 .
