Bradford Village Manager From: Joann Manganiello, Assistant to the Village Manager/Village Clerk Date: January 4, 1996 ,Subject: Constitution Park Project Award of Bid ltIth Condition;Agenda Item Bids.for the Constitution Park Project were opened on Thursday, December 28, 1995, at 2:00 p.m. in the Village Hall Council Chambers. Five (5) contractors submitted alternate bids. Upon review of the same, Al Oslund, PLS, Project Manager, Gee & Jenson, has recommended the following contractors* be awarded a contract for the Constitution Park Project per their respective Alternate Bids: • Brang Co. Inc. of Florida, Boca Raton,Florida Paving, Drainage, & Grading S269,271.24 Gazebo 31.612.00 • S300,953.24 • Florida Design Contractors,Inc., Lake Park,Florida Landscaping&Irrigation S 58,632.50 • GameTime, Inc. do Dominica Recreation Products, Longwood, Florida S 84,567.00, Sports/Playground Equipment TOTAL S444,152.74 *These contractors represent the lowest bidder for each Alternate Bid. To date, the FY 1996 Bond Construction Fund budget allocation balance for the Constitution Park Project is S400,995. Additional funding in the amount of S50,000 is anticipated per the Agreement Between Palm Beach County and the Village of Tequesta for the Development of Two Multi Purpose Pkiyground Areas at Constitution Park. This Agreement will be considered by the Board of County Commissioners at their February 6, 1996,.Meeting. However, until such time as the Agreement is formally approved by the Board of County Comm oners and the Village is assured of this additional funding, bids for the Constitution Park Project exceed the amount budgeted for this Project. Therefore, rather than reject all bids at this time due to insufficient funding, and based on the fact that the Constitution Park Project was bid on a unit price basis, I recommend that the Village Council award contracts to the above referenced low bidders subject to the condition that Brang Co. Inc. of Florida, Florida Design Contractors, Inc., and GameT'une, Inc. do Dominica Memorandum: Thomas G. Bradford . January.4, 1996 Page 2- • Recreation Products are willing to work with the Village to reduce their respective contract amounts on a unit price basis so that the total contract amount does not exceed the Constitution Park Project budget allocation. To support this recommendation, Brang Co. Inc. of Florida, Florida Design Contractors, Inc., and GameTime, Inc. do Dominica Recreation Products have been contacted by either Al Oslund or myself to apprise them of the intended Award of Bid Subject to Condition. Each contractor is fully cognizant of the budget restraints and has indicated his willingness to work with the Village to reduce his contract amount accordingly. Please place the Constitution Park Award of Bid With Condition on the January 11, 1996, Village Council Meeting Agenda for consideration by the Village Council. Thank you. • Enclosure c: Allan F.
