Bradford, Village Manager FROM: Gary Preston, Recreation Director O.�'Q DATE: December 7, 1995 SUBJECT: Village Council Agenda Item for December 14, 1995; Bids for Improvements to Tequesta Park Pavilion • Bids for the above referenced project were opened at the Village Administrative Office at 2:00 P.M. November 30, 1995. , Please find attached, bid tabulation sheet and recommendation from Allan Oslund, PLS, Gee &Jenson, to award the contract to the low bidder, William H. Murphy, General Contractor, Inc., in the amount of $36,520. The proposed improvements to the thirty five (35) year old Pavilion include the remodeling of the downstairs concession area to meet ADA standards and the demolition of the unsafe second floor. The remodeling provides for the installation of a new roof, replacing doors, windows, and repairs to the electrical and plumbing systems. On July 27, 1995, the Village Council approved a budget revision in the amount of $35,000 for this project. The FY 96 Recreation Budget has sufficient funds available in Contractual Services for the additional $1,520.00 required for the completion of this contract. Please place this item on the December 14, 1995 Village Council agenda for Councilmembers consideration. H. Murphy General Contractor, Inc. whose base bid is $36,520, Alternate 1, $1,800, Alternate 2, $4,095, Alternate 3, $2,590 and Alternate 4, $1,850. We have reviewed the bid prices by the above referenced contractors and would • recommend acceptance of Wm. H. Murphy General Contractor, Inc. base bid of $36,520. We would not recommend the acceptance of any alternates. In my discussions with Mr. Murphy, he indicated to me was that he would be able to begin construction on or about January 8, 1996.
