TITLE
Update From Peter Dewitt on Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area North Trails
SUMMARY:
The newly completed trails on the North side of JILONA are almost ready for public use! According to
Peter, the kiosk has been installed and they are just waiting on maps and bike racks to get installed
which should happen in the next few weeks. Once all the loose ends are wrapped up, the last step will
be removing the portion of fence on US1 nearest to TD Bank for trail accessibility. At that point, the
BLM is hoping to have some sort of a ribbon cutting ceremony and I think the EAC should attend, if
possible.
Additionally, it has been my suggestion that once the trails are open the EAC host a monthly cleanup
or invasive species pull. After speaking with Peter and Michael they agree this would be hugely
beneficial, and Peter even suggested a recurring date so local kids can rely on having a community
service opportunity should they need hours. If the committee agrees, I will bring this suggestion
before council next month at our quarterly update.
