(RESOLUTION FOR THE PURPOSE) ATTACHED IS A COPY OF RESOLUTION 45-02/03 FOR DISSOLVING THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE THAT WAS NOT INCLUDED FOR AGENDA ITEM VI. K. (CONSENT AGENDA). THIS RESOLUTION APPEARS ON THE AMENDED AGENDA. AS A NOTE, I WILL BE SENDING THOSE MEMBERS OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE A LETTER OF THANKS AND A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION FOR THEIR TIME AND COMMITMENT. THANK YOU. •k MM RESOLUTION N0.45-02/03 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, DISSOLVING THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta deemed it appropriate to review the recreational needs and desires of its citizens before establishing a recreational program; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has now established a recreation program with the assistance of the Pazks and Recreation Advisory Committee, completing their joint mission; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has deemed the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee obsolete; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Village Council hereby authorizes the dissolution of the Pazks and Recreation Advisory Committee in accordance with Resolution 9-01/02, Section 5. SECTION2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Council Member ,who moved its adoption. At the last meeting, the board members decide to change their roles to a more informal setting. The Parks and Recreation Department will create a volunteer program that will assist the department on various special events throughout the year. Also, the Parks and Recreation Department will hold two open houses a year. This will allow the public to provide input regarding recreation programs & services, facility needs, park improvements & additions. Please place on agenda for August 2003 Council Meeting. Thank you RESOLUTION NO. 9-13U~2 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL. OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING AN AD HOC ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE VILLAGE f COUNCIL TO BE KNOWN AS THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE; ESTABLISHING ITS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR ITS MAKEUP; AND ESTABLISHING THE TERNT OF ITS EXISTENCE; PROVIDLNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta deems it appropriate 'to review the recreational needs and desires of its citizens befare establishing a recreational program; and WHEREAS, the a'illage Council desires to establish a Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee for the purpose of collecting input from the citizens with regards to ;Parks and Recreation and bringing the information to the Village Council; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL F THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS DLLOWS: ;SECTION 1. The Village Council hereby authorizes the formation of an ad hoc fadvisory board to be known as the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The ;specific purpose of said Committee shall be to serve as an advisory committee to the Village Council on matters relating to the Village parks and recreational activities, and. jwhat Tequesta's citizens would desire in a recreational program. `SECTION 2. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall consist of seven (7j 3 (members, all of whom shall be residents of the Village. Applications to the Cammittee >will be available to all citizens, and the Council shall select and ratify seven (7j members =from the applicants at a Village Council Meeting subsequent to at least seven (7) a, ;applications having been received. ;SECTION 3: ®f the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee's seven {? j members, =three {3) shall serve a term of one (1) year, and four (4) for the term of two (2) years from x and after their appointment. Their successors shall be appointed for the terns of two (2 j ;years from and after the expiration of their terms of their predecessors in office. SECTION 4. The Parks and Recreation Ad~•isory Committee shall meet as frequently as determined by the Committee; and SECTION S. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall be dissolved at the 'will of the Village Council. ;SECTION 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage.
