CA U4 0 To Village Council k.1 From Joann Manganiello, Acting Village Manager Date/Time 6/2/00, I I:24AM Subject Resolution No. 63-99/00-Adoption of Stormwater Utility Non Ad Valorem Assessment Rates for FY 00/01; Agenda Item Staff recommends that the ERU rate for the Stormwater Utility be increased by 10% for FY 2001 based upon the proposed budget. At its meeting on May 25, 2000, the Stormwater Utility Board voted to recommend this increase to the Village Council. This increase will be used to meet the requirements for notifications for changes in non-ad valorem assessments and to establish a minimum reserve in light the termination of the subsidy to the utility from the General Fund. (561)575-6200 (561)575-6203 Fax RESOLUTION NO. 63 - 99/00 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE PROPOSED STORMWATER UTILITY FY 2000 NON-AD VALOREM EQUIVALENT RESIDENTIAL UNIT (ERU) ASSESSMENT RATES FOR FY 2000 APPLICABLE TO THE PROPERTIES WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSMITTAL OF THE SAME TO THE PROPERTY APPRAISER AND/OR TAX COLLECTOR OF PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR NON-AD VALOREM ASSESSMENT PURPOSES . WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Village Council to adopt non-ad valorem assessments for all properties within the jurisdiction of the Village of Tequesta for FY 2000 in order to provide the revenues necessary to operate Tequesta' s Stormwater Utility as authorized by Florida Statutes . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . The Proposed Equivalent Residential Unit Non-Ad Valorem Assessment Rates are hereby Adopted for FY 2000 as follows : ➢ Small Single Family Residence : > 1 s . f . and <= 2506 sq. ft . = 1 ERU x = . 65 x 12 mo. = $53 . 20 plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3 . 5% for early payment = $55 . 59 annually. ➢ Medium Single Family Residence : >= 2506 s . f . and = <= 4621 s . f . = 1 ERU x 12 mo. = $81 . 84 plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3 . 5% for early payment = $85 . 52 annually. ➢ Large Single Family Residence : >= 4622 s . f . = 1 ERU x 1 . 30 x 12 mo. = $106 . 39 plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3 . 5% for early payment = $111 . 18 annually. Condominium Developments : 1 ERU x . 67 x 12 mo. = $54 . 83 plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3 . 5% for early payment = $57 . 30 per unit annually. f ➢ Multi-family Development : 1 ERU x . 84 x 12 mo. = $68 . 75 plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3 . 5% for early payment = $71 . 84 per unit annually. ➢ Commercial/Government/Industrial : Total impervious area/3576 s . f . x $6 . 82 x 12 mo. = annual payment plus 1% Tax Collector fee and 3 . 5% for early payment = annual payment . Section 2 . The Acting Village Manager or her/his designee is authorized to transmit the hereinabove Adopted Stormwater Utility Non-Ad Valorem Assessment Rates for FY 2000 to the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser and/or Palm Beach County Tax Collector for Assessment Purposes . THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember , who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember , and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows : FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and adopted this 25th day of May , A.D. 2000 .
