T 7 pp,„1,".4 I Pi_ •4e C 4 MEMORANDUM TO: Village Council Michael Couzzo, Village Manager Joann Manganiello, Assistant Village Manager FROM: Sharon Walker, Councilmember DATE: October 4, 2000 SUBJECT: Follow-up Discussion on Meet & Greet Presentation; Agenda Item for October 12, 2000 Following our September 28th council meeting which included this, I offered to provide each of you with a summary of that discussion. We also agreed to continue that discussion during our October I2`h meeting in the hopes of agreeing to a Meet & Greet subject and presentation format. I appreciate your consideration of this idea and look forward to brainstorming on October I2`h Summary of Council Discussion 9/28/00 of Showcase Presentation/Meet & Greet • Expand topic to be all inclusive of Congregate Care Facilities, perhaps entitled "Extended Care/Life Care" Facilities available in Village of Tequesta. • Meet & Greet portion of meeting would begin at 6:00 pm and end at beginning of regularly scheduled council meeting (7:00 pm) • First Showcase would be November 16, 2000 (the date of our next scheduled council meeting) • Each member of council who wishes to participate would determine manner in which to invite (20) residents to meet &greet. Invitation to be prepared by Village of Tequesta staff on letterhead paper so as to not incur any additional costs. Wording would be general; councilmember to add any personal notes (note: Spirit of idea is to go out into our community and involve residents who are not currently regularly involved. How each of us decides to engage these individuals is a personal choice). • Owner/Broker/Representative of Life and facilities would not be a part of the presentation. This was discussed and more-or-less agreed to by council so that the Village of Tequesta would not be perceived as "representing" any special interests. Instead, literature about each facility would be available if any resident chooses to follow up on their own. • Presentation format: Colored renderings of each facility would be displayed on easels for presentation. Renderings could include exterior of building, floor plans, special features, etc. Council would literally meet &greet those residents attending and invite them to also stay for the council meeting. • Meet & Greet showcase presentations would be held on a quarterly basis throughout the year. Topics to be determined through council discussion at regularly scheduled meetings. Word/Village Council/Meet&Greet Memo(Walker) kkv Word\MyDocuments\
