V6111age of T 345 Tequesta Drive 561-768-0700 Tequesta, FL 33469 www.tequesta.org TO: Environmental Advisory Committee FROM: Brad Freese, Chair EAC DATE: 01/08/2025 SUBJECT: VOT EAC Workshop As discussed in December the committee agreed that EAC would hold a meeting during the evening to promote community participation and engagement in environmental initiatives. This will not be a typical EAC committee meeting but rather an informational opportunity for residents. I would like to confirm details and start advertising this event as soon as possible. Your input is needed for the following: 1. Time/Date/Location: We proposed to hold the meeting from 6:oo pm to 7:00 pm at the Tequesta Recreation Center. Will need dates in March the space at the center will be available so I can confirm presenter availability. 2. Title: In the interest of time, we agreed to keep the content to one subject-Living Shorelines. I need suggestions for a "catchy" title as many(I'm guilty) only read the headlines. My suggestion: "Tequesta Living Shoreline Ordinance: Understanding the Impacts to our Coastal Community." 3. Content: I propose three presentations. a. Introduction to Living Shorelines-Jay b. Natural and Engineered solutions-MANG/Reef Arches c. Example of Living Shoreline in Tequesta-Peter DeWitt. 4. Advertisements: I propose publishing a one-pager with meeting details and information in the VOT weekly e-newsletter. To further engage those with potential direct impact, I propose a hardcopy mailer to all waterfront property owners in Tequesta.
