MINUTES
ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (EAC) MEETING
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FL
FEBRUARY 12, 2025 2:00 PM VILLAGE COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order by Chair Brad Freese at 2:00 p.m. Roll call was taken by
Planner Meg Wyble.
Present were:
Michelle Shearouse, Brad Freese, Jill Wenta, Thomas G. Bradford, and Wade Chance.
Late were:
Russ Redman.
Absent were:
Clay Damon.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
COMMUNICATIONS FROM CITIZENS
There was no communications from citizens.
PRESENTATIONS
1. 1. Green Incentives
Planner Meg Wyble provided the follow up to the previously presented Green Building
Initiatives. The Committee was receptive to the ideas and agreed to support the initiative.
The Committee also encouraged the use of marketing, and citizen engagement to bring
attention to the program.
MOTION: EAC Member Wenta made a motion to support the initiative; EAC Member
Chance seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 6-0 (absent: EAC Member Damon).
CONSENT AGENDA
2. MINUTES: January 8, 2025
MOTION:Vice-Chair Bradford made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda and

January 8, 2025 minutes as presented. EAC Member Shearouse seconded the motion.
Carried unanimously 5-0 (absent: EAC Member Damon and Regular Member Seat 5
Redman).

OLD BUSINESS
3. VOT EAC Evening Presentations: Living Shorelines. Final thoughts, preparation,
and planning.
The Committee decided to move forward with the title Living Shorelines: Protect our
Shores, Preserve our Future for the March 4, evening workshop.
4. 2025 EAC Strategic Initiatives: EAC finalization of initiatives to include in a memo
to council.
The Committee decided on the final items for the Council Memo:
• Enhanced Streetscapes
• Green Building Incentives
• Single Stream Recycling
• Living Shorelines
• Support of Environmental Legislation
NEW BUSINESS
5. Florida's Urban and Community Forestry- Plantings, Preservation, and Invasives
Control (UCF- PPIC) Grant.
Due to current elements the UCF-PPIC Grant is not recommended.

MOTION: EAC Member Shearouse made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Vice-Chair Bradford
seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 6-0 (absent: EAC Member Damon).
