Craig, PE, Director, Utilities Department Date: April 28, 2025 Re: Utilities Department Monthly Report—for the May Council Meeting The Utilities Department monthly report is found below: Stormwater • Dover Ditch—this is a shared project with Town of Jupiter o USACE - USFWS—US Fish and Wildlife Service—received permit approval o Expect to bid out the project in May 2025! o Provided a project update—April Loxahatchee River Preservation Initiative (LRPI) meeting (see pictures below) Water • Reverse osmosis well#3—received the new$75,000 pump; installed by internal staff(saving about $15k)—we were not able to salvage the bearing housing so fixing would have been almost as much as a new one; pump was leaking very corrosive water, causing damage to other equipment (but able to use until new one came in) • Surficial Aquifer Well Annual Rehabilitation &Well#26 Evaluation o Three surficial aquifer wells are programmed to be rehabbed annually o Well #26 was rehabilitated by AMPS in January—continue to have issues with air entrainment, have contracted with expert to review and provide options • Still ongoing • Scheduled 11t week of May-AMPS to meet with our expert and UD team o Well #25 scheduled for April—being conducted April o Well #7 planned for late May/early June • Water Treatment Plant Projects o Water Treatment Improvements—process, SCADA, efficiency improvements—still waiting for fully executed agreement with FDEP before bidding-total cost$6.6M o FDEP SRF loan agreement was signed by the Village and submitted to FDEP for their signature-$5,745,000; the difference we recommend paying out of reserves o Filter Media Replacement(Pressurized Vessels)—on this agenda for approval! o Membrane Replacement Project— o Held meeting in April; engineer out of the office for two weeks This document may be reproduced upon request in an alternative format by contacting the Village Clerk's Office at 561-768-0440 or by completing our accessibility form: https://bit.ly/3mnfeU4 Page 166 of 496 Agenda Item #16. o Expect to receive the final bid documents in early May and bid in May o Recommend bidding all three skids at once, which will require considering a budget amendment to move money to cover the bid • WM#2 Beach Rd Phase 2 o Project funded at the February 12, 2025, Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) quarterly meeting for state revolving fund loans o Received official email from FDEP with the official results of the quarterly meeting and the loan application on Tuesday, March 251"from FDEP o Working on the application • Martin County—County Line Road Bridge Replacement Project—Tequesta Utilities Department is relocating two existing water mains before Martin County starts the bridge replacement project o LRECD held the pre-construction meeting with Accurate Drilling Systems, Inc., and issued the notice to proceed in March o Kimley Horn has received the shop drawings from the contractor—still under review o Project cost is$1,308,000 with a contingency amount of$131,000 Miscellaneous • Operational budget—team working on • Lab— NELAC certificaion—we were recertified to perform bacteriological testing • Florida Atlantic University—Senior Design Project Showcase—Judge—Marjorie served as a judge for the FAU senior design projects for civil engineering and geomatics again • New engineering intern hired from FAU—Victoria Gonzalez—she will start May 2nd !
