ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (EAC) MEETING
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FL
AUGUST 13, 2025 2:00 PM VILLAGE COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order by Chair Brad Freeze at 2:00 p.m. A roll call was taken by
Planner Meg Wyble.
Present were:
Michelle Shearouse, Brad Freese, Jill Wenta, Thomas G. Bradford, and Wade Chance.
Absent were:
Russ Redman.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: Vice-Chair Bradford made a motion to approve the agenda. EAC Member Shearouse
seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 5-0 (absent: Regular Member Seat 5 Redman).
COMMUNICATIONS FROM CITIZENS
No communications from citizens.
PRESENTATIONS
1. Construction Site Management and Stormwater Management
Community Development Director Jay Hubsch presented on current practices regarding
construction site management and stormwater runoff. The committee thanked him and
engaged in a discussion about how best to support any operational improvements.
CONSENT AGENDA
2. MINUTES: May 14, 2025
MOTION: Vice-Chair Bradford made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda and
meeting minutes from the Environmental Advisory Committee meeting on May 14, 2025,
as presented. EAC Member Wenta seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 5-0
(absent: Regular Member Seat 5 Redman).

3. EAC Seat 6 Vacancy
• Recap of Council Workshop (June 2) discussion regarding EAC seat #6
vacancy
• Removing Seat 6
• Start time for meetings
• Frequency of meetings
On August 12, 2025 Village Council selected Drew Henriques as the newest member of
the Environmental Advisory Committee. The Committee extends a warm welcome to Mr.
Henriques and looks forward to working with him.
NEW BUSINESS
4. Construction Site Management and Environmental Impacts
The Committee discussed information provided in the presentation.
5. Stormwater Control/Toxic and Hazardous Materials Management
The Committee agreed that providing the community with an amnesty day for disposing
of hazardous materials could encourage the proper disposal of said materials. The
Committee discussed working in line with the bi-annual shredding event and exploring
additional opportunities.
6. Mangrove Incentives
The Committee contemplated the possibility of incentivizing mangrove plantings in the
Village of Tequesta.
7. EAC Annual Review for VOT Council
The Committee considered items that they would like to bring forward to the Village
Council, for their annual review.

The next EAC meeting is currently scheduled for September 10, 2025.

MOTION: Vice-Chair Bradford made a motion to adjourn the meeting; EAC Member Chance
seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 5-0 (absent: Regular Member Seat 5 Redman).
