Consider Approval of 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Double Cab 2WD Pick Up Truck 147" WB
Purchase from Stingray Chevrolet, LLC for the Utilities Department, through the Florida Sheriff's
Association Contract, at a total cost of$42,039.25, and Budget Amendment for $2,040
The Utilities Department (UD) recommends approval to purchase a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Double Cab 2WD Pick Up Truck 147" WB (Chevrolet Silverado) through the Florida Sheriff's
Association contract. The total purchase cost for the vehicle is $42,039-25, which exceeds the
approved budget amount of $40,000. To cover the difference, UD staff recommends a budget
amendment to transfer $2,040 from the Water Fund Distribution Building Repair and Maintenance
Account(401-243-546.303) to the Vehicle Renewal and Replacement Fund(501-411-664.602).
For FY26, $15,000 was budgeted and approved under the Water Fund Distribution Building Repair
and Maintenance Account to replace two (2) warehouse roll-up doors at 136 Bridge Road. After
obtaining multiple quotes, the total cost for both doors is $11,578, leaving an available balance of
$37422.
The Chevrolet Silverado is equipped with an upgraded 8-cylinder engine, which provides greater
towing capacity and engine durability compared to the standard 4-cylinder TurboMax engine. This
configuration is suited for towing and hauling utility equipment and materials required for daily utility
operations. The vehicle also includes safety features andprotective add-ons to maintain operator
safety and maximize vehicle longevity.
The Chevrolet Silverado will replace an existing vehicle, UD67, a 2014 Ford F-150 that is over 11
years old and has accumulated more than 87,000 miles.
The Utilities Department's crews use full-sized pickup trucks with tool storage compartments and
safety lighting packages for transportation and day-to-day maintenance activities, including pulling
heavy equipment. New vehicles are equipped with driver-assist features that help improve driver
safety.
To ensure the lowest possible price, the Village piggyback's the current Florida Sheriff's Association
contract that was awarded to various vendors, including Stingray Chevrolet. The vendor selection by
the Sheriff's Association & Florida Association of Counties was completed through a competitive
selection process.

UD67, will be surplused.
