[Draft) MINUTES ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (EAC) MEETING VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FL OCTOBER 8, 2025 2:00 PM VILLAGE COUNCIL CHAMBERS CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order by Chair at 2:00 p.m. A roll call was taken by Community Development Director Jay Hubsch. Present were: Michelle Shearouse, Brad Freese, Jill Wenta, Thomas G. Bradford, Wade Chance, and Drew Henriques. Absent were: Russ Redman. APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION: Vice-Chair Bradford made a motion to approve the agenda with the addition of two topics; Code section 78-395, and recent Right-of-way proposal, to Agenda Section - Comments of Committee Members. EAC Member Wenta seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 6-0 (absent: Regular Member Seat 5 Redman). COMMUNICATIONS FROM CITIZENS Mrs. Marie Sapirie, resident of Tequesta, addressed Council and spoke about the recent right of way proposal, expressing concerns that the proposal homogenizes the Village. The Council thanked Mrs. Sapirie for her time and presented follow up questions on the topic. PRESENTATIONS 1. Catie Sprague, Education & Outreach Supervisor. Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County. "SWA Integrated Solid Waste Management System." CONSENT AGENDA 2. MINUTES: EAC Meeting on September 10, 2025. MOTION:Vice-Chair Bradford made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as presented, including the September 10, 2025 meeting minutes. EAC Member Wenta PlRgge4'b-b63 Agenda Item #2. 01 Draft seconded the motion. Carried unanimously 6-0 (absent: Regular Member Seat 5 Redman). END OF CONSENT AGENDA REGULAR AGENDA NEW BUSINESS 3. VOT Council Response to EAC Initiatives The Committee reviewed the Council's recent feedback concerning the EAC 3s initiatives. The comments were broadly favorable, and the Committee welcomed the Council's input. OLD BUSINESS 4. Tequesta Hazardous Waste Amnesty Day: Update Fire Chief McLoughlin of the Village of Tequesta addressed the Committee regarding the proper disposal of hazardous wastes. The Committee expressed its gratitude to Chief McLoughlin and approved the idea of leveraging the community newsletter Smoke Signals to inform and educate residents about what constitutes hazardous waste and how to dispose of it properly. 5. Stormwater Drainage Signs The Committee reviewed the feedback received from the Council on stormwater drainage signage and agreed that repairing the existing signs is the best course of action. COMMENTS OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS, VILLAGE COUNCIL LIAISON AND STAFF The Committee continued their conversation regarding the added Right of Way Proposal item.
