THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUF.STA, FLORIDA
MAY 26, 1981
A public hearing was held by the Village Council of the Village
of Tequesta, Florida at 7:25 P.M. , Tuesday, May 26, 1981 in the Village Hall,
357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Councilmembers present were: Mapes,
Stoddard, Brown, Cook and Little. Also present were Robert Harp, Village
Manager and John C. Randolph, Village Attorney.
Mayor Mapes advised that the public hearing was to consider a
Dock and Pier Control Ordinance which would become a section of the Village
Zoning Code.
Harp advised that first reading of the Ordinance had been made
at the April 28, 1981 Council Meeting and that legal notice of this public
hearing had been published in the Courier May 10 and May 20, 1981. The
notice also advised of the second reading of the Ordinance to be considered
at the May 26, 1981 Council Meeting.
Joseph D. Yoder, Jr. , the Village's representative on a Special
Area Committee to develop the ordinance appeared before the meeting. He
recommended only one change as suggested by the Village Building Official,
A. W. Butterfield, to insert the word "enclosed" before "boat shelter" in
Section 5 of the Ordinance, and the Councilmembers concurred.
Yoder further advised that Palm Beach County is dragging its
feet on adoption of a similar ordinance and recommended that the Village
Council urge the Board of County Commissioners to adopt a similar ordinance.
The public hearing was closed at 7:32 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
obertHarp
