for a change in Zoning Classification of various parcels of land
within the Village, owned by the Florida East:Cbast` Railway: '.—
The Village Manager advised that notice of this meeting has
been made and the F.E.C. Railway has been notified of the Public
Hearing.
The Village Manager talked briefly about the formation of
the Comprehensive Land Use Plan that was implemented by the
Village in 1979. Once the Land Use Plan had been adopted the
lands effected by the Land Use Plan had to be rezoned to conform
with the Plan. There were five (5 ) parcels of land that belonged
to the F.E.C. Railway which was not rezoned with the original
parcels of lands to comply with the Land Use Plan. There was a
discrepancy at the time of the original rezoning so these parcels
were deleted from the Ordinance. The descriptions were changed
and another Ordinance was created. Council had first reading
and now was ready for second reading.
The Village Attorney spoke for the F.E.C. Railway and said
that F.E.C. objected to the rezoning because they feel the Village
cannot control what F.E.C. does with its railway. F.E.C. has
sent a letter to the Village Attorney expressing their concerns
on the rezoning.
The Village Attorney advised that the Florida East Coast
Railway wanted to go on record as objecting to the rezoning.
