HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Miscellaneous_10/13/1981 MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF4UESTA FLORIDA October 13 , 981 A Public Hearing was held by the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida at 7:00 P.M. , Tuesday, October 13, 1981 in the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Councilmembers present were: Brown, Cook, Little, Mapes and Stoddard. Also present were: Robert Harp, Village Manager, Cyrese Colbert, Village Clerk and John C. Randolph, Village Attorney. This was the Second Budget Public Hearing. The Village Manager briefly reviewed the proposed Budget. He pointed out the various sources of revenues and expenditures. Mr. John Giba, resident, asked if there has been a new man added to the Building Department. It was explained that the Building Inspector had replaced the retiring Building Official and a new Building Inspector has been added. He told Council he would like to see better control on the bicycles using the bicycle path instead of the road way. Stoddard moved, "we adopt the millage rate of 3.0166 for the year 1981/8211. Brown seconded and vote on the motion was: Brown -for Cook -for Little -for Mapes -for Stoddard -for and therefore the motion was passed and adopted. The Village Manager read a Resolution entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA PROVIDING FOR LEVYING A MILLAGE RATE OF $3 ,0166 DOLLARS PER $1,000.00 OF TAXABLE VALUATION FOR THE YEAR 1981. Cook moved, "that we approve this Resolution". Little seconded and vote on the motion was: Brown -for Cook -for Little -for Mapes -for Stoddard -for and therefore Resolution No. 1-81/82 was passed and adopted. i ti ` 10-13-81 -02 Little moved, "that we approve the Budget as presented for 1981/82". Brown seconded and vote on the--motion was: Brown -for Cook -for Little -for Mapes -for Stoddard -for and therefore the motion was passed and adopted. The Village Manager read by title A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE BUDGETS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR C014NENCING OCTOBER 1, 1981. Brown moved, "for the adoption of Resolution providing for the adoption of the Budget for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 1981 as presented". Stoddard seconded and vote on the motion was: Brown -for Cook -for Little -for Mapes -for Stoddard -for and therefore Resolution No. 2-81/82- was passed and adopted. Stoddard moved, "the Village Manager be authorized to adjust the millage pursuant to the final Certified Taxable Value submitted by the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser to keep the Revenue for Advalorem Taxes the same amount as budgeted". Brown seconded and vote on the motion was: Brown -for Cook -for Little -for Mapes -for Stoddard -for and therefore the motion was passed and adopted.
