COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD
FEBRUARY 17, 1982
A meeting of the Village of Tequesta Community Appearance Board
was held at 9:00 A.M. , Wednesday, February 17, 1982 in the Village Hall,
357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Board members present were:
Chairman Cleveland, Hartman, Nagle, Pierson and Sundermann. Also present
were: Robert Harp, Clerk of the Board and Scott D. Ladd, Building Official.
Cleveland advised that the meeting was being held to consider the
resubmission of the plans for a single story bank building behind the Texaco
Service Station, 110 Bridge Road, Tequesta, owner - Gill Properties, Inc.
He advised that the Board had previously approved a two (2) story office and
bank building at the site. The Building Official noted the original approved
Site Plan Review was rescinded by the Village Council due to a parking problem.
Thomas R. Gill and John D. Howell, Contractor, were in attendance.
The Board had the plans available and reviewed same. Gill and
Howell advised that the building would be only one (1) story, housing the
Lighthouse National Bank, branch office, have a mansard roof with barrel tile
similar to the existing DiVosta-Steinhauser Building on Bridge Road. There
is a surplus of two (2) parking spaces after allocating six (6) spaces to
Burger Chef, which is also owned by Gill. There was very little change in
the landscape plan except for where the elevator had been located for the
two (2) story building. Howell said the color scheme and architecture would
be the same as the original building.
Nagle moved, seconded by Hartman that the plans for the one-story
bank building behind Texaco Service Station, 110 Bridge Road, Tequesta, Florida,
owner: Gill Properties, Inc. be approved as submitted. The vote on the motion
was:
Nagle For
Hartman For
Cleveland For
Pierson For
Sundermann For
and the motion therefore passed. The Board members then signed the plans,
Robert F. Dickinson, Architect, consisting of twelve (12) sheets, Project
82012 dated 1-21-82.
Pierson advised the Board that the Tequesta Association of Voters
and Taxpayers Board of Directors had approved in principle a project to recog-
nize improvements in landscape and general appearance of commercial properties
within the Village of Tequesta, to be done on a continuing basis with a
plaque and/or money to be awarded annually. He wondered if a member of the
Village Community Appearance Board should be on the Selection Committee and
2-17-82 - 2
it was generally agreed that this should be. Pierson is working up the
details for the project for submission to the Association's Board Meeting on
March 1, 1982. The Board members believed it to be a good and worthwhile
project.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 A.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Robert Harp
Clerk of the Board
