Regular Council STAFF MEMO A-1 Meeting: Regular Council - Dec 11 2025 Staff Contact: Jeremy Allen, Village Manager Department: Manager Discuss and Consider Village-Wide 2026 Community Survey Every two years, the Village of Tequesta conducts a comprehensive Citizen Survey to ensure that the voice of our residents remains the cornerstone of our decision-making process. The 2026 Citizen Survey continues this important tradition by providing us with clear, actionable insight into how our residents feel about the services we deliver, where they want us to focus our resources in the coming years, and what their vision is for the future of our community. This survey is far more than an opinion poll; it is the primary tool we use to establish strategic direction for budgeting, capital planning, and policy priorities. The responses you will see reflect the lived experiences, expectations, and aspirations of the people we serve, whether they have called Tequesta home for decades or are part of our growing number of newer residents. We have kept the questions relatively similar so that we can benchmark them from survey to survey. Below are a list of changes: • Removed FP Undergrounding Feasibility - The Village did seek probable cost, and a study was provided that rendered a full undergrounding project in the Village unattainable. FPL has continued to underground portions of the Village. This item was removed from our Strategic Plan. • Added Phase 2 of Rememberance Park to solicit feedback on moving forward with the expansion of Rememberance Park • Added Redevelopment of Tequesta Park - We have received an appropriation from the State for planning purposes. The feedback from this question will allow the Village Council to properly prioritise the redevelopment of the park. • Added a question to solicit feedback from the public on the initiatives we have undertaken to address golf cart and e-bike safety, which has been a priority for the Village Council. We will run the survey for 3 weeks in January. We anticipate compiling the results and providing them to Council prior to the Strategic Planning process. The data presented will highlight areas of strength we should continue to build upon, as well as opportunities for improvement that deserve our immediate attention. From public safety and infrastructure maintenance to parks, recreation, code enforcement, environmental stewardship, and communication, your decisions in the coming months and years will be directly informed by what our residents have told us matters most to them.
