Planning and Zoning Board Sitting as Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Committee: Discussion of the
2025 Infrastructure Surtax Annual Expenditure Report
The Village's Planning and Zoning Board holds an annual meeting as the Infrastructure Surtax
Oversight Committee. The PZB sitting as the Committee is tasked with reviewing the Village's yearly
surtax expenditures.
In 2025, the Village received $631,990 in infrastructure surtax revenue, maintained $613,926 in
reserve, and made $28,322 in interest income off the money being held in reserve. In 2025, the
Village spent $46,386 on Tequesta Drive Bridge Improvements with surtax funds.
The County's Infrastructure Sales Tax expired on December 31, 2025. When initially approved by
voter referendum in 2016, the surtax was scheduled to end within 10 years or sooner if $2.7 billion
was collected. The $2.7 billion mark was recently met, and 2025 was the last year the Village will
have received funds for the program. The $613,926 that remains in reserve will be utilized in 2026 for
Tequesta Drive Bridge Improvements.
