V *111age of T 345 Tequesta Drive 561-768-0700 Tequesta, FL 33469 www.tequesta.org TO: Environmental Advisory Committee FROM: Brad Freese, Chair EAC DATE: 02/11/2026 SUBJECT: Vertical Oyster Garden (VOG) Event This memo is in response to EAC recommendation to support a vertical oyster garden demonstration and educational event for the Village of Tequesta. To maximize outreach to residents this proposed event will occur in conjunction with The Village's live music series being held on April 11, 2026 or May 9, 2026 at Constitution Park. The live music event will be occurring on each day from approximately 4-9pm. Unfortunately, Tom Twyford will be unable to attend on these dates. As such will committee members be able to volunteer their time on the above dates. If so, there are three VOG building sessions that the West Palm Beach Fishing Club will be conducting. These building sessions will provide an opportunity to learn how VOG's are built. The sessions are: • Tuesday, February 10 at MacArthur Beach State Park. Lake Worth Lagoon Initiative Water, Habitat and Public Outreach meeting gam — 12 noon. I'm last on the agenda and will give an oyster program update. Then my team will be giving a VOG building demonstration following the meeting where our shell curing station is located in the park. That should take place around 11:30am • Thursday, February 12 @ 10am at the West Palm Beach Fishing Club 201 Fifth Street West Palm Beach, FL 33401. We have Coco Plum Nature School coming to the Fishing Club to learn about oysters and make VOGs. • Tuesday, March 10 @ 10am at the West Palm Beach Fishing Club.
