On Sunday,January 4, 2026, the Village experienced an emergency water main break on Tequesta Drive. Due to the location and severity of the break, immediate action was required to protect public safety, restore water service, and reopen the roadway to vehicular traffic as quickly as possible. The emergency repair required removal of asphalt pavement, excavation to access the damaged water main, and temporary restoration of the roadway to allow traffic flow. Given the active nature of Tequesta Drive and its importance as a primary roadway, delaying repairs was not a viable option. After repair of the water main by VOT staff, Wynn &Sons Environmental Construction Co., LLC mobilized under emergency conditions to perform the necessary restoration work,which included: - Emergency response and traffic-related restoration efforts - Full-depth asphalt removal in the affected area - Excavation and grading to support utility repairs - Installation of base material and asphalt for roadway restoration - Associated equipment, labor, and materials necessary to safely reopen the road The work was completed promptly to minimize traffic disruption and ensure public safety. The submitted proposal from Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Co., LLC, dated January 5, 2026, totals$22,365.52 and reflects unit pricing that is consistent with the Village's current piggyback contract for roadway and utility-related construction services. Use of this contract allowed the Village to respond immediately without delay while maintaining compliance with procurement requirements.
