HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance_358_09/08/1987 a ORDINANCE NO. 358 • w l_.J AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR A CHAIN OF RESPONSIBILITY IN THE EVENT OF A HURRICANE OR OTHER DISASTER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE O TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1: The Mayor, Civil Defense Director and the Villag Manager acting in concert or any two of them, if one is no available or any one of them if neither of the other two i available, are authorized to take temporary emergency measure in matters of extreme necessity involving matters of public healt or safety„ resulting from hurricane or other disaster. Section 2: Any public warning, evacuation order or othe needed emergency directive involving matters of public healt or safety with respect to temporary emergency measures shal be issued in the manner set forth in Section 1 above. Section 3: For purposes of this ordinance, the Chief o Police of the Village of Tequesta is the Civil Defense Director. Section 4: If any provision of this Ordinance or th application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall no affect the other provisions or applications of this Ordinanc which can be given effect without the invalid provisions o applications and to this end the provisions of this Ordinanc are hereby declared severable. Section 5: This Ordinance shall be codified and made part of the official Code of Ordinances of the Village of Tequesta Section 6: This Ordinance shall take effect immediatel upon its passage and approval, as provided by law. THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE was offered by Councilmembe Edwin J. Nelson who moved its adoption. The Ordinanc was seconded by Councilmember Ron Mackail and upo being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: ~JOHNSTON, SASSER, RANDOLPH & WEAVER i FOR ADOPTION Earl L. Collings Edward C.
