AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA
AMENDING THE BUILDING AND BUILDING REGULATIONS
CHAPTER OF THE VILLAGE CODE, CHAPTER 6, BY
PROVIDING THAT PERMIT FEES SHALL BE PAID TO THE
BUILDING OFFICIAL BY AMENDING ARTICLE VIII,
SECTION 6-142; ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 6-143 AND
ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 6-144 OF SAID CODE;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, permit fees for buildings, structures, alterations,
plumbing and electricity should be paid to the Building Official at the time
of filing application for a permit instead of to the Village Clerk; and
WHEREAS, when the Building Department moves into its new office
on or about October 1, 1981 it will be more efficient and practical to have
all functions of the Department to be contracted in the new location; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta deems it
necessary and appropriate to provide -for the Village Building Official to
collect permit fees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA:
Section 1 - Article VIII, Section 6-142 of the Village Code shall
be amended to read as follows:
On all buildings, structures or alterations requiring a
building permit as set forth in the Village of Tequesta
Building Code, a fee shall be paid to the Building
Official as required at the time of filing application,
in accordance with the following scheduler
Section 2 - Article VIII, Section 6-143 of the Village Code shall
be amended to read as follows:
On all plumbing work requiring a permit as set forth in
the Village of Tequesta Plumbing Code fees shall be
paid to the Building Official as required at the time
of filing application, in accordance with the following
schedule:
Section 3 - Article VIII, Section 6-144 of the Village Code shall
be amended to read as follows:

On all electrical work requiring a permit as set forth
in the Village of Tequesta Electrical Code, fees shall
be paid to the Building Official as required at the time
of filing application in accordance with the following
schedule. The mimimum fee for any permit for electrical
work will be five dollars ($5.00).
Section 4 - In the event any section, subsection, clause,
sentence or provision is held invalid, the remainder of this Ordinance shall
not be affected by such invalidity.
Section 5 - Permission to codify this Ordinance is hereby granted.
Section 6 - This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and
approval as provided by law.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE was offered by Councilmember
Lee T~. Bro~n who moved its adoption. The Ordinance was
seconded by Councilmember Carlton D. Stod~ard and upon being
put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Attorney announced that this Ordinance has had first reading
and has been published by title, in a Local newspaper before
