ORDINANCE N0. 301
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA,
FLORIDA AMENDING CHAPTER 13, SECTION 13-10(a)
OF THE VILLAGE CODE TO PROVIDE FOR AN INCREASE
TN THE COST, FOR OBTAINING AN IDENTIFICATION
CARD FROM $1,00 TO $5.00; PROVIDTNG FOR
SEVERABILTTY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the sum of one dollar ($1.00) does not now cover the
costs of issuing an identification card; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council hereby deems it necessary to increase
the amount to be charged to cover the costs of issuing identification cards;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA:
Section 1 - Chapter 13, Section 13-10(a) of the Village Code shall
be amended to read as follows:
All transient laborers, solicitors and peddlers; all
domestic employees; all employees of stores, shops
and other establishments dealing with the public;
and all employees of hotels, motels, apartments, clubs
or other places having accomodations for transient
customers or guests, shall be required to register
with the clerk, obtain an identification card there-
from before he or she may be permitted to continue
to be so engaged or employed within the Village,
and all such persons be required to submit to having
their fingerprints and photographs taken by the said
clerk or the police department as specified by said
clerk, and shall pay to said clerk the sum of five
dollars ($5.00) to cover costs of issuing said identi-
fication card.
Section 2 - In the event that any section, subsection, clause,
sentence or provision is held invalid, the remainder of this Ordinance shall
not be affected by such invalidity.
Section 3 - Permission to codify this Ordinance is hereby granted.
Section 4 - This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and
approval as provided by law.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE was offered by Councilmember
Lee M. Brown who moved its adoption. The Ordinance was
seconded by Councilmember Thomas J. Little and upon being put
to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Mayor thereupon declared the Ordinance duly passed and

for Formal Proceedings" for the -; Y~tracoastal crossi.n~; to
Jupiter Island. The Petition explains that i.n order t,o
sl.zppl_y a sufficient amount. of taator at acceptable and adeq~~ate
pressure to certain of its customers and to provide for the
health, safety and welfare of those custocners the Village j"•~as
told by its consulting engineers t'nat it would he necessary
to install a subaqueous <`ratan main under the Intracr~astal
~"laterway.
It also states that there are many disputed issues of
material facts and questions if the D.E,R. acted properly in
denying the Village's petition.
By f"fling this petition the j'illage demands that a formal
proceeding be held pursuant to the app:Licable la,^~s and regulations
and that the action of .the agency in denying the permit to the
Village be reversed with the direction that the ag-~ncy grant a
permit to the Village for the pro,ec-t.
Stoddard. requested that a copy of the petition be sent to
Repressntative "Doc" I~ieyers. The Village F,Tanager told Stoddard
that it would be sent.
