HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance_299_06/23/1981• ORDINANCE N0. 2~Q AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA AMENDING THE BUILDING AND BUILDING REGULATION CHAPTER OF THE VILLAGE CODE, CHAPTER 6, BY ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1981 EDITION AND THE UNIFORM, MINIMUM COUNTYWIDE AMENDMENTS, AS RECOMMENDED BY THE BUILDING CODE ADVISORY BOARD OF PALM BEACH COUNTY, TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1981 EDITION AND AMENDING THE VARIOUS PERMIT FEE SCHEDULES BY AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTION 6-41; ARTICLE III, SECTION 6-42; ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 6-141; ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 6-142; ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 6--144; ARTICLE VTII, SECTION 6-145 AND ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 6-146 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFI- CATION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the National Electrical Code, 1981 Edition has now been published and distributed; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta hereby decides that the method of evaluating a house on proposed construction be revised consistent with regional, state and nationally recognized rates, schedules and practices which include building valuation schedules revised and published semi-annually by the Markel Appraisal Chart Company of Cincinnati, Ohio; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA: Section 1 - Article TII, Section 6-41 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as follows: The National Electrical Code, 1981 Edition, of which copies have been and are now filed in the office of the Building Official of the Village, is (except as otherwise provided herein,) hereby adopted and in- corporated as fully as if set forth at length herein, and from the date on which this section shall take effect, the provisions therein shall be controlling in the area of jurisdiction of the Village. Section 2 - Article III, Section 6-42 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as follows: The uniform, minimum countywide amendments, as recommended by the Building Code Advisory Board of Palm Beach County, to the National Electrical Code, 1981 Edition, is hereby adopted and incorp- orated herein as fully as if set forth at length herein. • ~J Section 3 - Article VIII, Section 6-141 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as follows: (b) Unit cubic foot value. (i) Construction trailers: Each $15.00 -4- Section 5 - Article VIII, Section 6-143 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as follows: (15) On all irrigation sprinkler systems requiring a permit as set forth in the Village of Tequesta building code, fees shall be paid to the Village Clerk as required at the time of filing application in accordance with the Section 6-142(a) schedule. (16) On all mechanical equipment work requiring a permit as set forth in the Village of Tequesta building code, fees shall be paid to the Village Clerk as required at the time of filing application in accordance with the Section 6-142(a) schedule. Minimum Fee Commercial -minimum electric permit for commercial will be 8,5p per tenancy (1 to 10 outlets). For every outlet over 10, an additional 60~ per outlet shall be charged in addition to the minimum permit. Residential -minimum electric permit for residential will be 6.00 per tenancy (1 to 10 outlets). For every outlet over 10, an additional 30~ per outlet shall be charged in addition to the minimum permit. 2. (i) Reinspection Fee Each reinspection due to wrong address, work rejected because of faulty construction, work not ready for inspection at time requested, code violations, repairs and corrections not made when inspection is scheduled or premises not accessible for inspector, may be charged ................................ 5.00 Section 7 - Article VIII, Section 6-145 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as follows: On all air conditioning work requiring a permit as set forth in the Village of Tequesta building code,-fees shall be paid to the Village Clerk as required at the time of filing appli- cation in accordance with the Section 6-142(a) schedule. (1) Minimum air conditioning permit fee, $5.00 (2) All buildings except one-and two-family dwellings using self-contained air conditioning units of less than two- tons, the fee charged shall be that for the total tonnage of all units. combined. The minimum fee shall be $10.00. (3) Reinspection of a heating, ventilating, air conditioning or refrigeration system, the installer of such equip- ment shall pay a reinspection fee of $5.00. Section 8 - Article VIII, Section 6-146 of the Village Code shall be amended to read as follows: On all gas installation or dismantling work requiring a permit as set forth in the Village of Tequesta gas code, fees shall be paid to the Village Clerk as required at the time of filing application in accordance with the following schedule: (1) Minimum gas- installation or dismantling fee, $5.00 (2) Each gas piping system of 1 to 5 outlets, $5,00; each additional outlet, $0.50 (3) Inspection of conversion burners, floor furnaces, incinerators, boilers, central heating or air conditioning units, $2.00 per unit. (4) Inspection of vented wall furnaces and water heaters, $2.00 per unit. (5) Inspection following the dismantling of a gas piping system, $5.00. (6) Reinspection-fee, $5.00 (7) Any and all fees shall be paid by the person to whom the permit is issued. Section 9 - In the event that any section, subsection, clause, sentence or provision is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected by such invalidity. Section 10 - Permission to codify this ordinance is hereby granted. -8- • Section 11 - This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval as provided by law.
