SUBJECT: Planning and Zoning Board Vacancy Appointments
The following are current Planning & Zoning Board vacancies
• Regular Member -John Terzakis was appointed to serve on the General
Employee Pension Board; therefore, the remainder of his P&Z term needs to be
filled (term expires 5/8/10) -two applicants: Eric Jolly (previous Audit
Committee Member) and Chase Croft
• Alternate Member #1 -Chase Croft has requested appointment as a Regular
Member.
• Alternate Member #2 -Position remains vacant
Ordinance 5-08 directs that "vacancies in the Board membership by resignation... shall
be filed by the Village Council for the unexpired term of the member involved."
No applications were received for the two Alternate Member positions. I advertised the
openings on two occasions; posted on the Village's home page scroll bar; and posted
on the Village Clerk's Boards and Committees page. Additionally, a request was sent to
all current Planning and Zoning Board members and Council requesting suggestions for
possible members.
RECOMMENDATION:
• Consider appointment to fill the remainder of Mr. Terzakis' term (term
would officially end 5/8/10)
• Consider appointment to one open Alternate Position
• Re-advertise Alternate openings in both the Jupiter Courier; and request
P8~Z Board and Council speak to qualified residents

I am currently an alternate on the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board and wish to request a regular
member position on the board. I have learned much in the past few months observing the regular members and
I look forward to moving to a spot where I can play a larger role in the operations of the board.

Just an update on the current P&Z Board vacancies. I have advertised two openings: Regular Member to replace Mr.
Terzakis (moved to General Employee Pension Board) and Alternate Member (to replace Mr. VonFrank).
The openings have been advertised twice ,placed on the website home page scroll bar for a week; and noted on the
P&Z webpage. The deadline to receive applications /resumes is this Friday, October 2, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. To date I have
not received any applications or letters of interest.
As you may know the Village Council recently removed the requirement that no two members could serve on the Board
who were from the same homeowners/condo association. If you know a resident who is qualified to serve on the P&Z
Board and would be interested in serving their community, please have them contact me at 575-6244. They can also
download an application directly from the Village website at: http://www.tequesta.or~/index.aspx?nid=130 and email it
to me at ImcwilliamsCa~teguesta.org.
This is scheduled for the October Council agenda in order to have as little impact on the P&Z Board as possible, but we
need applicants.
Chase, if you are interested in moving from the Alternate position to a Regular Member position, please let me know.
