ADMINISTRATION. ARTICLE III. OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND DEPARTMENTS. DIVISION 2. VILLAGE MANAGER. BY AMENDING SECTION 2-81. TO PROVIDE AUTHORITY FOR THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO SIGN CONTRACTS IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $25,000 WITHOUT PRIOR VILLAGE COUNCIL APPROVAL; PROVIDING THAT EACH AND EVERY OTHER SECTION AND SUBSECTION OF CHAPTER 2. SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED.; PROVIDING A CONFLICTS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND AUTHORITY TO CODIFY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Division 2. of Article III. of Chapter 2. Administration of the Village of Tequesa Code of Ordinances provides authority for the Village Manager to sign contracts in an amount up to fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) without prior Village Council approval; and WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to increase this amount to twenty- five thousand dollars ($25,000) so that business may be conducted more easily since the Village Council only meets once a month and in view of the fact that all such contracts will come to the Village Council for ratification at the next available Village Council meeting in accordance with Section 3.03(9) of the Village Charter; and WHEREAS, the Village Council believes that this revision to the Code of Ordinances is in the best interests of the Village of Tequesta, and will promote the public health, safety and welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Chapter 2. Administration. of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Tequesta is hereby amended at Article III. Officers, Employees and 1 Departments. at Division 2. Village Manager. at Section 2-81 by amending this section to provide authority for the Village Manager to sign contracts in the maximum amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) without prior Village Council approval with Village Council ratification at the next Village Council meeting in accordance with Section 3.03(9) of the Village Charter; providing that Sec. 2-81 shall hereafter read as follows: Division 2. Village Manager Sec. 2-81. Authority to enter into contracts. The village manager is authorized to sign contracts in the maximum amount of $~-5;999:99 $25,000.00 without prior village council approval. Section 2: Each and every other section and subsection of Chapter 2. Administration. shall remain in full force and effect as previously enacted. Section 3: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 4: Should any Section or provision of this Ordinance or any portion thereof, any paragraph, sentence or word be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this Ordinance. Section 5: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify this Ordinance. Section 6: This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage.
