Council- men present were: Messrs. Valier, Turnbull, Bowden, Cornelius and Stewart. Also present were Attorney tiJill.iam Lord and Robert Harp, Village Clerk. Mayor Valier stated that Section 5 of Ordinance No. 23 provides that all Village Voters i:~ust re-register commencing January 1, 1965 and it is the general feeling of Council that such re-registration is not necessary at this time and the Ordinance should be amended to eliminate this requirement. Cornelius moved, seconded by Turnbull and passed that Section 5 of Ordinance No. 23 be repealed. A discussion ensued scout purging of the Registration Rolls and it eras decided to look into the possibility of working out some plan with the Fa]m Beach County Registration Officer to have any Village resident registering in Palm beach County to be also registered in the Village of Tequesta. The Village Clerlr advised of a request frog. Bruce Y. and Jacquelin D. Brett and George P. Brett, Jr. and Tequesta Sales Corp. for the Village to a'oandon and vacate a utility easement on the South five (5) feet of the East 110 feet of Lot 598, Tequesta and the North five (5) feet of the Fast 110 feet of Lot 599, Tequesta, said lots 'oeing owned by a'oove res- pectively. The Clerk explained that the West 20 feet was for an anchor easement and caas already in use. ~-ie further advised that letters from vouthern Fell Telephone Company and Florida Power ~ Light Company stating th~rhad no objection to the vacating and abandonment of the utility easement as described had been received. The Village Manager stated he could see no reason for any objection to the request. Cornelius moved, seconded by Bowden and passed that the request for vacating and aban- donment of the utility easement on the South five (5) feet of the Fast one hundred ten (110) feet of Lot No. 598, Tequesta, and the North five (5) feet of the Last one hundred ten (110) feet of Lot 599, Tequesta be approved and the Mayor and Village Clerk be authorized to execute a Release of Easement for this purpose. Attorney Lord advised the Council that Brockway, 4~leber and Brockway had estisr~,ted a cost of X400,00 fora written description of the present Village '~oundaries including a hand- hold map, for use in presenting sane to the 1965 State Legisla- ture for approval. Cornelius noved, seconded by Ern,,rden and passed that the Village proceed at once with having the fine of Brockway, Weber ~ Brockway write a description of the present territorial limits of the Village and prepare a map of same, and the Village Attorney is authorized to proceed with preparing this material for presentation to the 1965 session of the State Legislature for their approval. Attorney Lord also advised the necessity of preparing any other matters for presentation to the legislature for approval. Cornelius moved, seconded by Bowden and passed that discussion of garbage and trash be tabled to a ]ester meeting. The Village Clerk stated that Mr. Motherwell, otmer of the Carriage House on Tequesta Drive, would like to know if the Council would approve the planting of several (perhaps three) royal palm trees in front of the Carriage House in Palm Beach County Right-of-Way, providing the County would withdraw their earlier refusal of this request. It was the feeling of some mem'aers that this was a breatc in the previous planting and should be done since it had previously been done on the east approach to the bridgeM The Village Manager said it is doubtful if there is enough room on the south side of the road for such planting. Cornelius moved, seconded by Bowden and passed that the Village install up to three (3) royal palm trees in front of the Carriage House, if Palm Beach County should grant their approval, said installation '~eing made su'oj.:ct to watering, etc. ro be assurs~ed by Mr. Motherwell and/or +rhe `~:arriage House Apart- ments .
