OF THE COUIJCILTIETI OF TIi/ VILLAGE OF
TI;QtiCUTA, FLORIDA
A Special Meeting of the Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta,
Florida was held Monday, May 3, 1965 at 9:15 A.M. at the Village Office
in Village Square Shopping Center. Councilmen present were: rlessrs.
Valier, Turnbull, Cornelius and Sylvester. Also present was Robert
Karp, Village Clerg.
A~iayor Valier advised that the meeting had been called for the
express purpose of giving Second Reading to an Ordinance pertaining
to the annexation of Lots 14, 15, 16 and :'areal No. 2, Flock ~~D~~,
Jupiter Planers, Section One, r~hich owner Paul L. Nla.ddock petitioned
tv be annexed to the Territorial Limits of the Village of Tequesta,
as the Councilmen had 'assn so dotified.
The Clerk gave Second Readix~ to the Ordinance. Cornelius moved,
seconded by Turnbull and passed that the Second reading of the Ordi-
nance be approved.-The First Reading of the OrdinAnce having been
approved April 13, 1965, Ordinance No. 108 ~,ras thereby passed and adopted
On Seeo~ Reading.
Charles F. McIntosh, osmer of Apartment Ido. 8, Carriage ~Youse
Apartment=, Village of Tequesta, objected to the anne~:ation on the
basis that it was a subterfuge to circumvent County Zoning and tp have
the parcel re-zaAed by the Village. FIr. Thomas II, Daly, Real Estate
Er±oker, sbjected to said annexation on the same grounds.
Mrs. Agnes Brodie, otnier of Lot No. ?, Bay Harbor Subdivision,
Vi13,age ®f Tequesta, asked the Councilmen what they thought the Village
trouid gain by the annexation a~I stated she believed it irould be a
downgrading of surrounding properties.
Mayor Valier advised all present that the action of the Council
at today~s meeting did not have anything to do Frith zoning, only anaexa-
tisa of the parcel of land.

the territorial limits of the Village of Tequesta, also objected to
th® annexation.
3~1r. Thomas F~obinson, otirraer of a lot south of the Recrofts, and
not trithix the territorial limits oi° the Village of Teluesta, stated he
tras not opposed to the annexation, per se, but would be opposed to it
if the parcel should be re-zoned for apartment houses, thus ruining the
beauty of Bay Harbor and surrounding properties.
Mrs. ~J. L. Gorton, owner of part of Lot 6 and ?, Bay Harbor Sub-
division, Village of Tequesta, objected to the annexation on the same
basis as others.
Mr. Ceorge Key, o~~aer of Lots 10 and 11, Blocic ~~D~', Jupiter Manors,
not i~ithin the territorial limits of the Village of Te~uesta, objected
to the annexation on the same basis an4 believed it would affect the
valuation ox" surrounding properties,
The CounciLnen advised the Clerk to schedule a Public Bearing for
the coning of this parcel of land for May 21, 1965.
Sylvester moved, seconded by Cornelius and passed that the meeting
be ad~.ourned. Meeting so adjourned at 9:25 A.M.
