Indiantown firm
wins bridge project
The Florida Department
of Transportation has
awarded the Tequesta Drive
bridge replacement project
to Sheltra and Son Construc-
tion Co. of Indiantown.
The company's low bid
of $2,378,239 came in under
the initial projection of $4.2
million and was awarded
through the competitive bid
process.
Florida Department of
Transportation District
Four is administrating the
project and all its details on
behalf of the village, which
received $3 million in Fed-
eral stimulus funds earlier
this year.
FDOT and the village
management will confer
during a "partnership meet-
ing," with the contractor to
discuss the specifics of the
project, process, timeline
and demolition.
The village anticipated
that the Notice to Proceed
will be given Nov 18 and for
construction to begin some
time between Nov 18 and
Dec. 18.
Village officials, who are
offering an incentive for
early project completion are
hoping the project will take
less than the projected 230
days to complete.
