We made an opening in a wall without first getting a permit. At the time of our meeting you mentioned that since you could see we were progressing toward resolving the situation that we would have to go before the magistrate and you would grant us a continuance until the next hearings on March 25th. I am confident that we will have everything resolved by then since we have the engineering drawing complete and the permit application filled out, we are just waiting on our contractor to update his license. However, you also mentioned that going before the magistrate will involve a fee for us of between $200 and $400 dollars. To be very honest, at this time, while the fees may not seem large, for us it presents a problem. January and February are typically our slowest months and we struggle through until warmer weather returns. This year with the extended cold weather we are having our business is off by almost half for this time of year. As a result both my partner and I have already had to go one 2 week period without pay just to pay our bills and employees. I met with Calvin Turnquest yesterday afternoon to ask if there were any way that we could just get moved to the March docket without having to go before the magistrate on Thursday so we would not have to pay the court fee. He contacted the Village attorney and she advised him to tell me to email you requesting a move to the March docket. If you can see your way clear to move us to March it would be greatly appreciated and we would be sure to have everything resolved by then. We have been in business in the Village for 8 years and 13 years overall and we have always been good corporate citizens. Again any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. With all due respect, I would like to say that I am aware of the possible code violations with the wall being removed in the Specialty Watercraft building at 150 Bridge Road in Tequesta. I know as the owner I am ultimately responsible for this. As you know we have been working with you over the past month or so to get the proper information and I have been working diligently with the tenants to get this problem corrected.
