Attached is Resolution No. 16 -10 for the purchase of five (5) ISI Self - Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Assemblies from Bennett Fire Products Co., Inc. of Woodstock, Georgia for consideration by Council at their June 20, 2010 meeting. These new SCBA assemblies are to replace five (5) of the original SCBA assemblies purchased to start the department in 1993 and these existing SCBA assemblies do not meet the new National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)standards. Funds were not budgeted during this fiscal year for this purchase. Our original intent was to purchase these items in next year budget but we have an opportunity to purchase them now with considerable cost savings. The purchase now is $23,425.00 which is $14,075.00 less than next year's pricing.
