MAYOR AND COUNCIL, AS WE ALL AGREE FUTURE REVENUES ARE CRITICAL TO THE VILLAGE SO IT WILL REMAIN STRONG AND AT THE SAME TIME NOT CREATE ADDITIONAL EXPENSES TO THE VILLAGE. WE ALSO SGREE THAT ANNEXATION IS KEY TO THAT END ESPECIALLY IF THE ANNEXED AREAS ARE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE VILLAGE OR IN AREAS WE PASS BY EACH DAY. THERE ARE NUMEROUS POCKETS THAT MEET THAT CRITERIA AND I HAVE CHOSEN FOUR WE MAY WANT TO TAKE A SERIOUS LOOK AT. WHILE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHERS FOUR WAS MY LIMIT FOR THIS WORKSHOP. I HAVE ATTACHED BACK -UP TO THIS COVER LETTER FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AND FUTURE REFERANCE AS WE HAVE TO START SOME WHERE. IN A NUT SHELL BELOW ARE THE FOUR AREAS I LOOKED AT AND THE POSSIBLE REVENUE THEY REPRESENT. THEY HAVE SPOKEN WITH ME ABOUT THEIR CONCERNS IN COMING INTO THE VILLAGE AS WELL AS PATRICULAR ISSUES THEY WOULD LIKE THE VILLAGE TO CONSIDER. THE FOLLOWING ARE THEIR CONSIDERATIONS AND THOUGHTS: BERMUDA TERRACE: The primary concern here seems to be our Code of Ordinances. I would suggest we consider extending the time frame that homes would have to bring such things as boat parking, yards and commercial vehicle parking up to standards. Much the same as the Village did when it passed the 377 landscape ordinance to it's' residents and commercial properties. They are also interested in the installation of street lights within the development. Bermuda Terrace POA would also, like Waterway Village, have their boat ramp and dock left to the control of the POA. Bermuda Terrace is composed of 209 homes and like Waterway Village the average assessed value is in the neighborhood of $230,000.00. This would equate to approximately $48,070,000.00 overall or about $277,224.50 in annual revenue to the Village. WATERWAY VILLAGE: The primary concerns here are drainage and streets. The Board continually complains about the run off of water from Village Square Shopping Center. This has been an issue for years and has never been addressed by the landlord or has been talked about but never resolved. They also have noticed that the water run off from TD Bank is not going into the banks retention area, it runs down their street. In visiting the site that to me is an easy fix with a conduit or curb placement. They would also like their roads paved. They have an estimate from about a year ago for approximately $200,000.00. Perhaps the Village could share the cost of the paving and I'm sure that price is now reduced in this economic environment. The POA has a small park and dock on the intercostals and would want that to remain private and under their control. There are 141 homes within the community. The average home is appraised at about $230,000.00 representing $32,430,000.00 which if I am correct would bring an annual revenue to the Village of $187,027.00.
