RESOLUTION NO. 35 -98/99 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 28 -98/99 AND APPROVING A PROPOSAL FOR LEASE OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SYSTEM AND PURCHASE OF HYDROGEN PEROXIDE NECESSARY FOR THE PRETREATMENT OF THE EFFLUENT DISPOSAL FROM THE REVERSE OSMOSIS TREATMENT FACILITY FOR A 16 MONTH CONTRACT (JUNE 1, 1999 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2000) TO VULCAN CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. OF ORLANDO, FLORIDA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $47,400, WITH FUNDS FOR FY 1998/1999 BEING APPROPRIATED FROM THE WATER REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1998, AND SUBJECT TO FUNDS BEING APPROPRIATED AND APPROVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL FOR FY 1999/2000, AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: . Section 1. The proposal for lease of Hydrogen Peroxide System and purchase of Hydrogen Peroxide from i Vulcan Chemical Technologies, Inc., of Orlando, Florida in the amount of $47,400, attached hereto as Exhibit " A " and incorporated by reference as part of this Resolution is hereby approved and the Village Manager is authorized to execute the applicable documents on behalf of the Village. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember Schauer , who moved its adoption. Treatment Facility At the April 8, 1999, Village Council Meeting, the Village Council adopted Resolution No. 28 -98/99 Approving a Proposal for the Lease of a Hydrogen Peroxide System and Purchase of Hydrogen Peroxide Necessary for the Pretreatment of the Effluent Disposal from the R.O. Treatment Facility for a 16 month contract (June 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000) to Vulcan Chemical Technologies, Inc. of Orlando, Florida, in the amount of $35,400. The amount quoted, $35,400, represented a 12 month contract proposal rather than the 16 month contract proposal which was originally intended. The actual 16 month contract proposal amount is $47,400 (an additional $12,000). These funds will be expended over a 16 month contract period (June 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000) and cover lease of a 2,100 gallon hydrogen peroxide chemical storage tank, control • panel and pumps, and purchase of hydrogen peroxide needed to pretreat the effluent disposal from the Reverse Osmosis Treatment Plant prior to its discharge into the Jupiter Inlet. Installation, testing, and training is also included. Funding for the lease of the hydrogen peroxide system and purchase of hydrogen peroxide will be provided for from the Water Revenue Bond, Series 1998 for the remainder of this Fiscal Year (FY 1998/1999) and for Fiscal Year 1999/2000, subject to funds being appropriated and approved by the Village Council for FY 1999/2000. Due to the need to appropriate the additional $12,000 for the additional 4 months of the proposed contract and to properly award the 16 month contract to Vulcan Chemical Technologies, Inc. in the amount of $47,400, 1 am requesting that you place Resolution No. 35 -98/99 Rescinding Resolution No. 28 -98/99 And Approving Proposal for Lease of Hydrogen Peroxide System and Purchase of Hydrogen Peroxide Necessary for the Pretreatment of the Effluent Disposal from the R.O.
