Dear Connie and Steve,
I have finished the evaluation of the hardware proposals for the new system for the Village of Tequesta Finance
Department.
Initially, the quote from Allstar Systems looked attractive. However, upon closer examination, it appeared that they
did not include all of the parts necessary to build the Server and Workstations as per our Request for Proposal.
When I contacted them to ask for clarification, they checked and said that indeed they have left out some critical
parts and that the pricing was incorrect. Their proposal was incomplete as to both equipment and pricing.
All in all, I have no confidence in Allstar Systems. They just don't seem too experienced in the type of equipment we
need to complete our new network.
• The proposal from Integrated Security & Communications has equipment that meets or exceeds the specifications
in our RFP. Using my sources for independent price -vs- cost comparisons, their proposal seems fair for the
equipment being provided. Also, ISC can provide the IBM Workstations, configured properly for high -speed network
use.
I deleted the Epson 8500 printer from the ISC proposal, as we will not need that item. Also deleted were the
associated printer stand and ribbons for that printer.
After deletions, I re- calculated the net cost from ISC, taking advantage of the 2% discount that they offered. The
calculations are shown below.
