These are intended to address the upcoming applications lications of our client, GMH Associates, Inc.,, for approval of a substance abuse facility located at 223 Village Boulevard, Tequesta, Florida. We believe that adoption of the following text amendments would accomplish our client's goal, and we would appreciate your input and comments. Sec. 7 -4. De iii*o s. Rehabilitation Facility (Neer definition..) Rehabilitation facility means a residential facility which provides substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation services for its residents. Such facilities provide short-term or long --term lodging, 24-hour staff supervision, and resident support services, such as counseling, therapy and varying levels of health-related care. A rehabilitation facility shall not idle any persons referred by the 'lorld.a Department of Corrections or any adult or Juvenile court, nor provide or bold itself out as available to provide treatment for any persons who constitute a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals. A rehabilitation facility shall not provide outpatient treatment and the number of beds for rehabilitation facilities shall not exceed a total of two hundred(200) beds. Keith Davis, Esq. October 1, 2010 Page Two Residential Use Present definition: Residential use means use of laud or structures thereon, or a portion thereof, as a dwelling place for one or more families or households, but not including occupancy of a transient nature such as hotels, motels, or timesharing rentals. Proposed definition: Residential use means use of land or structures thereon, or a portion thereof, as a dwelling place for one or more families or households, including residential rehabilitation facilities but not otherwise including occupancy of a transient nature such a hotels, motels, or timesharing rentals. Health care facility or -medical or dental office (add "psychologists" to list of health care practitioners): Health cap- f it, medical or dental office means providing health care services to the public y physicians, dentists, chiropractors, osteopaths, physical therapists, nurses, acupuncturists., podiatrists, optometrists, psychiatrists, psychologists,(who are also known as health care practitioners) or others who are duly licensed to practice their respective medical or dental profession in. the State of Florida, as well as others, including but not limited to tecluicia s and assistants, who are acting under the supervision and control of a licensed health care practitioner.
