MURPHY G. C. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF 2000 L. F. OF NEW SIDEWALK ON NORTH CYPRESS DRIVE IN THE AMOUNT OF $56,250.00 AND APPROPRIATING FUND BALANCE FROM THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND #303 IN THE AMOUNT OF $56,250.00 TO FUND THIS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO PROCEED ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Residents of the Village of Tequesta petitioned the Village to install a sidewalk on North Cypress Drive (see attached petition); WHEREAS, The original contractor awarded the bid is unable to complete the project in a timely manner; WHEREAS, the bid submitted by William H. Murphy G. C. was the next lowest of three bids submitted (see attachment); WHEREAS, This project was not budgeted it is necessary to Appropriate Fund Balance in the amount of $56,250.00 and increase the expenditure account Pathway and Sidewalk Improvements #303 - 321 - 663.652 respectively; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 The Village Council hereby adopts Resolution #39 -10 amending Resolution # 27 -10 awarding a contract to William H. Murphy G. C. for the installation of a sidewalk on North Cypress Drive and appropriating Fund Balance in the Capital Projects Fund 303 to fund the project. The foregoing Resolution was offered by Council Member Humpage who moved its adoption. Without a side walk the residents do not have: e a safe route for children to walk to the school bus stops e a safe area for mothers to walk babies in strollers or small children e a safe route for pet owners to walk their dogs e a safe area for children to play on riding toys e a safe route for residents exercising and it causes an addition safety hazard for drivers because residents are forced to walk in the street We would like the Village of Tequesta Planning and Zoning committee to add our sidewalk to the 2009 Village building plans.
