HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance_71_07/16/1963 i • ORDINANCE NO. 71 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 10; PROVIDING FOR ISSUANCE OF LICENSES CONCERNING DISTRIBUTION AND SALE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS, WINES AND BEVERAGES; AND PROVIDING THAT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 10 BE AS ORIGINALLY ADOPTED AND ANMDED. IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 3 of Ordinance No. 10 of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, shall be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "Licenses shall be issued only to persons of good moral character who have not been convicted of any offense involving moral turpitude and who are not less than twenty -one years of age. Licenses to corporations shall be issued only to corporations whose officers and directors are persons of good moral character who have not been convicted of any offense involving moral turpitude. There shall be no exemption from the license taxes herein provided to any person, association of persons, or corporation. No person, official or employee authorized to enforce the provisions of this Ordinance and no sheriff or other officer with State Police Powers shall be permitted to engage in the sale of liquors or beverages as provided under this Ordinance, nor will they be permitted to own any stock or interest in any firm, partnership or corporation dealing wholly or in part in the sale or distribution of alcholic beverages." Section 2: Except as herein amended, all provisions and sections of Ordinance No. 10 of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, shall remain as originally adopted and amended. Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval as provided by law. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON FIRST RE"ING this -' day of July, 1963.
