HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance_46_08/01/1962 ORDINANCE NO. 46 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS TO THE TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA WHEREAS, sub- section (29) of Section 3 of ARTICLE V of the Charter of the Village of Tequesta grants the Village Council the power to annex any lands adjoining or within three miles of the territorial boundaries of said municipality upon the petition of the owner or owners thereof; and WHEREAS, JUPITER- TEQUESTA JUNIOR CITIZENS, INC., a Florida corporation, the owner of certain land situated in Palm Beach County, Florida, has filed a petition with the Village Council requesting that the land described therein be annexed to the territorial limits of the Village of Tequesta, copy of said petition being attached hereto and made apart hereof as if fully and completely set forth herein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1 . That the parcel of land described in the petition hereinabove mentioned and hereto attached is hereby annexed and incor- porated into the Village of Tequesta, and the same shall be and become a part of the Village of Tequesta, with the same force and effect as though the same had been originally incorporated into the territorial boundaries thereof. And, further, that said lands shall be subject to all of the ordinances, regulations and codes of said Village. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON FIRST READING this of 1962. This land, presently located in Palm beach County, we formal- ly request your annex into the Village of `i'equesta anu grant zoning; variance for it$s use for the construction of a youth center. It is also requested that this building, the land, and the personal property be granted exemption from taxes, licenses, anti building permit fee by the Village of Tequesta. The Board of `Trustees proposes to provide adequate and suffi- cient space in the South wing for housing; of a fire truck that is to be used by the Jupiter Volunteer Fire Company and offices for the Police Department Town Clerk, and a conference room to be used for the meetings of the Town Coun- cil, the Board of Trustees, and the hoard of firectors of Jupiter - Tequesta Junior Citizens. The Board of Trustees will rent these facilities to the Village of 'T'equesta for a term of two (2) years, starting upon completion of this portion of the building for the sum of W5900 per month. The landlord will i'urnish maintenance of ti grounds, buildings, water, arm electricity (excluding air conditioning). It is further requested that the Village Council agree to appoint a Trustee to the Jupiter - Tequesta Junior Citizens' i3oa.rd of Trustees every third year starting the year 1964 in accordance with the rules of suc- cession as outlined below: The organization shall be a non - profit organization and is being formed for the purpose of acquiring land, constructing a buildings and promoting youth activities for the children of the greater Jupiter - Tequesta area between the ages of thirteen (13) and nineteen (19).
