A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA SUPPORTING THE NORTHERN
AREA MUTUAL AID CONSORTIUM (NAMAC) PROPOSAL
OF A CENTRALIZED DISPATCH CENTER TO HANDLE
EMERGENCY RESPONSE REQUESTS FROM THE
CITIZENS LIVING IN THOSE COMMUNITIES
PARTICIPATING IN NAMAC; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta has entered into an
Interlocal Agreement to provide an organized method of
providing Emergency Mutual Aid Services to member
jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, it was deemed mutually advantageous to enter
into such Agreement providing for mutual aid in times
of emergency when the need created may be too great for
one party to deal with unassisted; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta Village Council has
discussed at public meetings, their interest in
exploring the concept of being part of a central
dispatch center; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta foresees an enhanced
level of service at reduced costs by sharing in the
purchase of equipment and personnel in such a
centralized dispatch center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The above recitals are incorporated as
thoughtfully set forth herein.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect upon
passage.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember
Cameron , who moved its adoption. The motion
was seconded by Councilmember Hansen and
upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed
and adopted this 9th day of October, A.D., 1997.
